Ralph Fiennes Actor: Angry at his Local area Suffolk Sub Station

The National Grid
and Scottish Power want to build it in a field

Showed a Photo of a nightingale bird
saying will you miss me?

This was BBC1HD Laura 9AM show

He was born there.
He says build an Off Shore Hub instead,
like they have done in Europe

But there is no funding to do it his way.

['Upgrade critical'

In a statement, National Grid disputed
Fiennes' claims that an offshore solution
would be cheaper,
based on costs it published in 2023,
and said an environmental impact
assessment would be included in any plans.

"The existing electricity transmission
network was built in the 1960s and
was not designed to transport the clean,
green, renewable energy from where
it is generated out at sea, to homes and
businesses across the country,"
the statement said.]

Just looked up his bio.

Wow, I thought he was way older than 61.

I thought he was about 75.

The National Grid want to build pylons from Norwich, through Suffolk, right down to Tilbury in Essex. The pylons are planned to run alongside people's homes, through farmland and conservation areas... people are not happy. They say there's no money to take it under sea around the coast. But the amount of profit the power companies have raked in over the last couple of years, I disagree. The pylons aren't coming anywhere near me, yet I will still be able to see them. It will be like a scar right down East Anglia.

Yes Fair Point on their Profit.

Sadly Under The Sea,
is not going to happen
as Labour will not do it.

Underground then? I don't have a problem with that. But people are sick of being dictated to, especially by huge, faceless organisations who put profit before people.

putting cables underground makes maintenance a bigger job, so it won't happen. Anyone that has driven in northern france knows how delightful pylons look as far as the eye can see. There is also the argument that living next to a pylon can cause serious health issues in kids

Yes they need
a better casing, underground.

And True
Pylons close to homes have caused health danger

Who cares about people's health versus the bottom line.
