Rochdale: Four boys aged 12-14 arrested on suspicion of rape
 

Four boys aged between 12 and 14 have been arrested on suspicion of rape, according to police in Rochdale.

Officers were called to reports of a rape in the Newbold area at around 18:00 GMT on Saturday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The quartet - aged 12, 13, 14, and 14 - were arrested and remain in custody.

A crime scene on Kingsway is still in place and the "young female"victim is being supported, the force added.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 6pm on Saturday 10 February 2024, officers were called to reports of a rape in Newbold, Rochdale.

"Four boys aged 12, 13, 14, 14 have been arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.

"The victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.

"If you or someone you know has been raped or sexually assaulted, we encourage you not to suffer in silence and report it to the police, or a support agency so you can get the help and support available."

Jesus christ, so young as well. That poor girl. They'll probably get a slap.on the wrist because of their age

Lock them away for 20 years minimum .. that poor girl will protect suffer for the rest of her life

Yes,
that will be terrible.

…so much is so wrong and broken atm…it’s sadly becoming less and less shocking to know that children are committing these violent and heinous acts against other children…in a very public place as well…?…in a supermarket car park, a place where someone would have felt safe…/…not an isolated area….

…I hope that the police and other services are funded enough to be able to provide the support this child will need ongoing and for her family as well…but my confidence is getting less and less with these things that, that will be the way…

That's not normal behaviour for a bunch of kids to be doing.

I'm suspicious that a fifth person was pushing them to do this.

Speculation aside, I hope that the victim gets justice.

While they definitely should face justice, I hope it doesn't end there. Such behaviour heavily suggests abuse at home, or possibly some kind of gang initiation.

…I think with regard to ‘influences’…one of the most concerning ones is Andrew Tate and that whole mindset of an ‘entitlement’ and disrespect for females…and because of the age of many ‘Tate followers’, it’s a very appropriate one to address and talk about in schools…

I've got a sneaking suspicion that if there are now two, there'll be more.

I am disgusted children as young as 6 years old can watch hard core porn if they can acccess the internet.
