I've decided I'm going to move out next year

I love this place, but it's getting way too expensive. Surely I can find a cheaper place?
I was thinking a studio flat.
I'll try with the council as well. That will probably take time, but worth a try.

AnnieK 21-02-2024 08:10 AM

Definitely get on the council list Vanessa.

Hope you find somewhere cheaper that you can be happy in

Yes, I want to get on the list.
I'm hoping a flat from them would be better. Private renting is crazy right now.

Why even stay in London?

I live in the "commuter belt" and it's only an hour by train, but very reasonable prices to live.

Because I start work at. 6:30. So I need to live nearby.

Job aside do you really need to be in LOndon?

MTVN 21-02-2024 09:17 AM

Do you have a 4DX Cinema?

Mystic Mock 21-02-2024 09:38 AM

Good luck with the move Vanessa.

I'm not an expert on London Housing Markets or Private Renting standards, but I wish you the best at finding a home within your price range.

Start doing the lottery because you got more chance of winning it than getting a council flat.

I might have to move outside London and commute. London rents are crazy right now.

Gusto Brunt 21-02-2024 10:05 AM

I'm gonna move this year too.

I don't like this house I am living in.

Far too big, and it's so cold. :(

I am thinking of a flat, too. :D

When you can get a mortgage that’s cheaper than your rent you know things are messed up

I have settled status.
I've always rented privately, but every year they raise the rent. It's crazy.

They're not all freeloaders. I work and a lot of them do.

You might not be a net deficit to the uk if you got a council flat but many many are.

Beso 21-02-2024 11:12 AM
