Third of British Councils have no plans for Electric Car Chargers

This is all PM Sunak's fault
he stopped funding
thinking private companies would do it.

[Progress towards a switch to
electric vehicles (EVs) is stalling with
one in three councils across
Great Britain failing to develop plans
for new public chargepoints,
new research suggests.
The study also points towards a
growing north south divide in
EV infrastructure and fears that
poorer areas are missing out.]

I wonder if Labours Starmer
will do any better?

Not a Tory incorrectly assuming that private enterprise will pick up the slack on infrastructure spending. Surely not.

Tragic.

nobody is buying electric cars because there arent enough charging points, and they wont put in the charging points until there is a critical mass of electric cars

Many are now going for Hybrids

But they are going up in price

The thing is (assuming the world doesn't end in a firey global catastrophe) I feel like there's better tech on the horizon, either more efficient electric vehicles usuing totally different charging technology or a completely different fuel source will become the norm... I overwhelmingly get the impression that buying into current electric cars is similar to "mini disks" in the early 2000's. People were convinced they were the next big thing and then MP3's made them totally obsolete in under 2 years.

Many poor zones
have some folks that have bought an Electric Car.

They are shocked that their council will not help
with Chargers

That is the whole point of this Front Page square
Top Left of today's paper

Electric car batteries from hot climates really fall off in range very quickly, so do batteries that have been constantly fast chaged

yet go buy one used and you will never be told about how the battery has been used. you can lose 80 miles in range in 2 years..

:skull:
