What did Sharon do?

In America? To be blacklisted/labelled racist?

Benjamin 07-03-2024 09:51 PM

Wasn’t it something to do with Megan and defending piers Morgan?

Yeah she was defending piers Morgan about meghan and then made a black cohost cry and then wasn’t sympathetic and so everyone said she was racist for making her cry.

Yes some time back.

Abra 07-03-2024 10:57 PM

I think Sharon was within her rights to defend Piers if that was her opinion but the way she handled the situation on the show was terrible. She likes to act like she was fired from the show for voicing her opinion, but it was more likely something to do with the fact that she started shouting and swearing at her co-hosts on a live daytime show.

jones89 07-03-2024 11:32 PM

She’s friends with Piers, she defended Piers, so OBVIOUSLY she’s racist, i mean it’s 2024 guys

…yeah, it wasn’t the defence of Piers as it sparked a discussion…it was that she lost control quite a bit in the discussion so not quite accurate in the way she’s explaining it…even with that, though…I don’t think she should in any way be black listed and the reaction to it and her was very OTT…I mean, when we think how emotional and heated and passionate our Loose Women can get when they feel really personally about topics …they also get very passionate and can ‘lose themselves’ a bit…and that should be allowed for, so long as it’s not their way in every topic and their all time style, etc…obviously in that position a stance of ‘hostility’ or over emotion isn’t acceptable but hmmmmmm, she lost it a bit…it was a one time thing so far as I know and I think it’s all a bit harsh and unforgiving and rejecting of her ….and that’s very sad…we don’t want ‘clone and drone’ panels of current affair presenters, we want real people with real emotions …because those actually reflect the current talking points and society today…

Oliver_W 08-03-2024 07:53 AM

She basically said or did nothing wrong, but because the other panelist shed Black Woman Tears, Sharon had been erroneously branded racist.

…that’s not quite accurate to say ‘she basically said…’…I mean it is accurate, but she became very ‘unprofessional’ in that whole context…in a professional context..and there were other layers and it’s important to be accurate because this has had a huge impact on her life, obviously…it was all very emotional and she was very dismissive and quite horrid to the other presenter who got upset and told her to stop crying or some such words, that Sharon should be the one crying…she showed no empathy or understanding for the emotion of others while trying to put forward her own emotions…

Ammi 08-03-2024 08:02 AM

…I don’t agree with her blacklisting or losing her job etc…but it was all much more layered than ‘she just…’….she did lose control and was very vocally dismissive of any view or emotion etc, other than her own…and that’s all not something that should have been aired on live TV for an audience…well, that’s obviously what the TV company feel, anyway…

Oh I do agree it wasn't the most decorous of performances.

…for me, I just think that’s quite an issue and contributory to divisiveness of today with things like social media with inaccuracy and misinformation of ‘they just said…’…type things, because it doesn’t create a true and accurate scenario or incident…sorry, I just like accuracy with these things because otherwise it just creates divides and ‘sides’ which I think is really unhelpful at best and dangerous at worst…

i think she said some stuff that came out a bit wrong after the Piers thing. It was more the aftermath rather than the Piers defence.

People forget with all the face lifts, but she is in her 70's and says things without thinking through what they mean

…you should watch the vid on YouTube…I don’t feel that she should have lost her job but she was very cruel and dismissive with the other presenter who was upset and crying…I don’t know if she’s spoken about her part in it all and her actions and words with her colleague that were really quite grim…

Gusto Brunt 08-03-2024 08:49 AM

Well in the UK, you don't have to be racist to be called a racist.

Especilaly by idiots like LBC's James O'Brien who'll call you a racist just because you don't agree with him on any other issues.

I suspect it's the same in the USA.

ive seen the youtube above, and those presenters started going down the path of unconscious bias, which is always the path they choose when they have nothing to back up their assertions

…that’s not really the thing about how she spoke to her colleague though when she became upset…almost ‘attacking’ her for becoming upset …as I say, that’s a very layered incident and far too inaccurate and misleading to think…’I’m blacklisted because I’m accused of racism…’…

Well, most people have empathy and cool it when the person they are talking to gets upset. Sharon aways came across as fake when she showed empathy on the x factor, so i don't think she honestly has any

…she actively criticised it though and sharply told the other female presenter to stop crying, that she had no right to cry or similar wording…I like Sharon a lot and always have but I won’t make any excuses for that particular thing, she was pretty awful to the female presenter so to say that it was because of her defence of Piers as a good friend…?…is inaccurate….
