Why would it be dead airtime? It doesn’t mean he’ll win, just that he’ll be there on the last evening. They’ve given passes to the final before - it doesn’t stop the other tasks and events taking place.

I wonder if they were waiting to see who Fern would choose before deciding what the snake would "do" ?

Like, if it chose a dullard like Bradley or Marisha, would they keep it as an eviction like they told her?
