Housewives and househusbands.

How many of us are there on the forum?

Let's all grab a bit of recognition. If you're running a home it's hard work and there's always something to be done. I cook, clean, iron for all 3 of us and a bazillion other little things. I enjoy it and it's lovely to be appreciated which I am.

Seeing as I can't work in another environment due to mental health issues, I still feel like I do my bit in the world. I take pride in it.

Do you like housework?

Of course. Running a house is hard. I'm sure you do a great job.
I work and try to run the house.
But I admit I'm a bit lazy when it comes to housework

Since I retired a couple of months ago I’ve been a house husband.. so I do just about everything apart from the ironing ..

I don’t like ironing ( or burning) but oddly enough the wife really likes doing it !!

I'm a stay at home mum / housewife these days, I love that I get to spend my days with my boy but I miss adult conversations a lot [emoji23]

I found that too when my son was little. I only went back to work when he went to school. It's rewarding yet I get your point about missing adult conversations.

Lady of leisure.
I used to love housework, and the challenge of it all when the kids were toddlers.
Unfortunately I sit in my chair and explain and direct hubby on what to do now.
I do any paperwork that needs sorting but that’s about it.

I have always done the housework…but I’m still working and my husband now helps me with household chores…shopping and cleaning.

I absolutely hate housework, me and Gav both work so we share the load, Luke helps too but he needs a few prods

Good morning Niamh. I quite like it, maybe I need therapy :joker: my only bugbear is the ironing, but I never let it mount up so it's little but often.

I househusband, am a full-time carer for my youngest who had significant learning disability, and I also have a full-time 9-5 position (WFH). And I still find time to come on here and educate TiBB most days!

Not all heroes wear capes.

I work full time, run the house, play taxi driver and social secretary for my 13 year old and sleep occasionally. I am perpetually tired but find gin at weekends helps

I found myself saying "Ahh that's nearly 5 hours, not too bad" when setting my alarm the other night. Then I stopped and actually thought about what I'd just said, and realised I'm probably going to be dead by 60 :joker:.

I work part time, and Mr C hasn't worked since we moved as he has been renovating the house and it doesn't look like he plans to return any time soon even though the house is more or less finished so he is doing the garden now, he is loving life, so I am supporting us both :oh: He is good at hoovering and cleaning....I do the shopping, cooking and washing, he will peg it out but its always a bit haphazard and I am a bit OCD about it
