Storms
The plane dropped 6,000 feet fast

['Suddenly the aircraft starts tilting up and there was shaking
so I started bracing for what was happening,
and very suddenly there was a very dramatic drop so
everyone seated and not wearing seatbelt was launched
immediately into the ceiling,'
Dzafran Azmir, a 28-year-old student on board
the flight told Reuters.

'Some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins
overhead and dented it, they hit the places where
lights and masks are and broke straight through it,' he said.
In pictures of the cabin, ceiling fittings are shown ripped
apart and the pipework left exposed.
Machinery was seen hanging from the galley
where trolleys are stored.

One air stewardess was seen with blood over her face.
Her male colleague could be seen in a chair nearby,
looking shocked and dishevelled.

Another passenger described how in the aftermath,
other flyers had to administer medical
assistance to those who were injured.]

Yes. The seatbelt sign should have been put immediately. Something is not right here.

Yes the Boss looks shifty
when he spoke on TV news

Ammi 21-05-2024 03:05 PM

….very, very tragic and completely terrifying for everyone on the plane…the 73yr old man suffered a heart attack, apparently and he was travelling with his wife…just awful thing to go through for them all but obviously completely shattering for the lady who lost her husband…

Crimson Dynamo 21-05-2024 03:18 PM

Funnily enough the worst ever turbulence i had was on the same flight, plane looked like its had been burgled by the time we landed as all the stuff from the lockers fell out and everyone's belongings were all over the shop but we got warned and we all had seatbelts on as I recall. Lots of people were praying loudly and it wasn't at all nice

If a pilot knows that they are going to fly into trouble they usually pre warn passengers and the length of time it will go on for, not sure dropping out of the sky can be considered turbulence?

But he may have dropped fast,
just before it started shaking fast

joeysteele 21-05-2024 06:13 PM

Crikey, this sounds terrifying.

Yes that's the way it should have been done. Seat belts up immediately.

Vanessa 21-05-2024 06:25 PM

This is exactly why I'm scared of those long flights :bawling:

bots 21-05-2024 06:42 PM

i've been on flights where people have been screaming from turbulence ..... does wonders for peoples nerves.

LaLaLand 21-05-2024 08:30 PM

My worst nightmare this is. I'm a nervous flyer as it is on a steady flight so to think of experiencing something like this makes me ill.

RIP to that poor man.
