They did on Monday but NOT for that area

The man's friends say he was experienced and would have been equipped for emergencies. I wonder what happened. It's a tragedy.

The heartbroken family of a father and son who were found dead in the Highlands after going missing on a hill walk have paid tribute to the pair.

Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie Parry have now been formally identified by police after they are thought to have died as the result of a fall. The pair were hillwalking in Glen Coe and rescuers spent hours searching for the father and son from Cheshire before they recovered two bodies from Stob Coire Nan Lochan, Glen Coe, at around 7.25pm on Wednesday. Police said there are no suspicious circumstances and their deaths are being treated as the result of a fall.

Tom Parry, 46, and his son Richie were expected to return home to Cheshire on Wednesday

Gemma Parry said in a statement: “Tom was a caring and loving father to his children and a loving husband to me. Richie was an energetic, loving boy who loved his quizzes, maths, and sports. He always cared for others as well no matter what.” She added: “Tom and Richie will be sadly missed and never forgotten.”

Lets hope not. But it does make sense.

They shouldn't have gone under those weather conditions. So heartbreaking.

Yes sadly an another avoidable tragedy.

…’probably died in a fall…’….but I guess it’s one of those things that will never be known for sure, what exactly happened and how the fall came about…terribly, terribly tragic…and for their loved ones as well…

Crimson Dynamo 01-06-2024 08:04 AM

There were no adverse weather conditions that day save low visibility which is normal for that area and altitude and the autopsy will be able to establish why they both died (ie fell down from a height and bashed their heads etc)

But with a child i cant think why they would be scaling rocks with the prospect that if one fell they would die so they must have gone off the beaten path and gone over a precipice
