As terrifying as this topic is.

…such great news for a much simpler saliva test…it’s early days atm but I hope that it’s very affordable/easily accessible for everyone…it shouldn’t be something that is ‘only affordable for some…’….but very good news for a simple and efficient test…

All well and good.
But perhaps men should be given the same options as women, we have regular smears and mammograms, men should be able to have yearly PSA testing.

Absolutely. Its the third most common cancer in men and more than ten thousand men in the uk will die of it every years.
I know men are very good at ignoring symptoms, but prostate cancer is like ovarian cancer, in that it's a silent killer. People often don't get symptoms until they have advanced cancer.

My husband carries the gene for prostate cancer but trying to get a PSA test was very difficult. The doctors told him he was too young. Even when he got some very typical symptoms, he was gaslighted. Yes, they did a digital examination and he was assured it was all normal, so by the time he did get a diagnosis (Privately) the cancer had advanced out of the prostate and he's been battling that cancer ever since.

Sorry to hear your husband is having to battle the cancer.
My dad had it for years, fortunately he had the op and then relied on hormone jabs to keep him right.
So bloody annoying that men have to battle to get such a simple test.

The current UK GP Blood Test type is not accurate.
