Had a really bad dream last night

It felt like I wanted to wake up, but couldn't?
Do you ever have nightmares? I don't have them very often. Maybe I had too much cheese

…the last terrifying/vivid dream I had, I recall telling InOne about it, so that’s how long ago it was…thankfully I don’t get them very often but they are very unsettling to have…I’m sorry that you experienced one last night, Vanessa……but yeah, well ration your cheese intake from here on…which is not an easy thing for an Italian, I mean……

I get nightmares most nights. Usually involving vampires. I am a horror movie fan.

The other night I dreampt I was outside a window on a ledge that was about six inches wide and high up about 40 feet, and when I tried to get back inside, the window was locked.

Haha, crazy. But not vampires this time.

I distinguish between nightmares and bad dreams. Nightmares I have on the odd occasion, but more often I have bad dreams that, when I awake, leave me with this uncanny feeling of unreality and misery. It's not even necessarily the content of the dreams, but moreso that the dreams are often tinged with this oppressive and solemn atmosphere that seems to linger around in my mind for a short period after I awaken.

I either don’t dream much or I simply don’t remember them … I do occasionally have scary dreams but thankfully I am aw to wake myself up after a few seconds !

Am I in the minority for being able snap myself out of nightmares .. or is everyone able to do that ??

Yeah it is strange to feel sad / low after something that didn’t really happen ( we just dreamt it )

It's such a myth about cheese , I don't think it causes bad dreams.

Ray. 12-06-2024 06:44 PM

Me and cheese are like chalk and...various other assorted dairy products.

That's sleep paralysis. It's often linked to anxiety.

…that’s a really scary thing as well, specially in trying to move/sit up etc…but not being able to move, so kind of throwing yourself off the bed onto the floor…

Had an ex gf who had that. It was known as "witch on the chest" as it could be accompanied by absolutely horrendous hallucinations. Used to have to physically shake her awake at times, and then we'd end up going for a stroll at 3am, so she could regain full consciousness.

Mystic Mock 13-06-2024 12:19 AM

I don't know if I would really call this a nightmare, but it was a strange dream where I was looking at crypted messages on some walls at an abandoned building.

Me and a few other people, were there trying to understand what the hell the messages were even meaning.

There I say it, but it felt like I was investigating the Zodiac Killer in my dream.
