Truly shocking video of them attempting to destroy one of our few historical monuments.
Lengthily jail sentences are required for this. |

[Several stones were covered in the substance before the protesters stopped and sat cross legged on the grass] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...drag-away.html |
Omg I've had enough of that lot :fist:

What's the substance? I mean... obviously it's senseless/terrible either way, but it's much more serious if it's something that's going to stick permanently or stain than if it's something that'll wash off the next time it rains.
|
Interestingly though it's all about context. Let's say it does stick or traces of it stick permanently. From our perspective that's vandalism and ruins the historical landmark... from the perspective of people in the year 2300, it's PART of the history of the historical landmark, and probably quite fascinating. They'll learn about it in... space school... or whatever.

It's only in very recent times that the stones have not been vandalised. Literally, for hundreds of years people have been chipping away at them and carving their initials
|
Appalling. They've sank to a new low.
|
It’s corn starch, that’ll wash off in the next rain, annoying and meaningless? Yes, but the overreaction is ridiculous

These upper middle class activists are hilarious, Stonehenge and then Glyndebourne and then The Boat race
:joker: Where did they park their 3 tonne electric SUV I wonder? |
Its just disrespectful .
Standards are being eroded faster than Stonehenge itself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It doesn’t just wash off….it has to be removed by experts so as not to damage the stone. |

At least they'll have a week off next week. They'll all be at Glastonbury.

[The protesters, who were named as
Niamh Lynch, 21, a student from Oxford, and Rajan Naidu, 73, from Birmingham, have now been arrested by police on suspicion of damaging the historical monument. As police officers led the pair away, one man could be heard shouting: 'You dirty scum. This is a temple, not a publicity stunt!'] |
