Fortuna Sittard: sad news, two club icons recently passed away

Businessman, former Teammanager and club icon Sjra Philippen passed away at the age of 85


Philippen, who saved the club from bankruptcy many times, worked as a team manager for many years as well as offering some of the players extra jobs at his businesses in off season, was very well liked by many members within the club

he was called the Cruijff of Limburg who could've been better than Johan Cruijff (what Cruijff himself once said)

Willy Dullens passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer's

Dullens, born and raised in Sittard, played 104 times for Sittardia and scored 33 goals, as well as playing 4 times for the dutch national team

he also owned a hair salon in Sittard, as well as working as a scout, youth team advisor and technical advisor for Fortuna Sittard


Dullens's funeral service will be held in the Fortuna Sittard Stadium with his friends and family attending the service, as well as people who can donate money in the stadium for the Alzheimer's Netherlands charity foundation
