Skydiving or hot air balloon ride?

Beats the tea-or-coffee thread I had planned until a minute ago (something reminded me of skydiving).

So what would it be if you had to choose?

Mystic Mock 24-06-2024 09:35 PM

I'm doing neither.

I see myself as being brave just trying to include myself in group activities on the Internet or irl.:joker:

Skydiving.

iv done it

I did a hot air balloon in Luxor over the valley of the kings, was magic, only cost 40usd.

With skydiving, I might finally be able to fully realise my dream as a chalk outline man.

Redway 25-06-2024 11:20 PM

But what if you land on an airplane if you sky-dive down from your hot air balloon?

I hear that. But maybe you’ll be up for the challenge one day. Who knows?

AnnieK 07-08-2025 06:39 PM

Neither.....it takes all of my strength to get on a plane, no way would I be then able to jump out of it

Is it bad enough for you to need benzos to quell you through?

Benjamin 07-08-2025 07:04 PM

I’ve done, and enjoyed both. I’d do both again too.

Never used meds. Have self medicate with a couple of glasses of wine but that is very much flight time dependent. I'm not one of those people who will have alcohol at 7am in an airport

I’m defo a 7am gin and tonic guy at the airport.

I can’t get drunk though, nothing worse than arriving hungover.

Deleted some posts in here, if any of you carry on the argument you'll be banned from the thread. Stay on topic please

B.I.B.: no-one would judge you even if you were. I’ll have a beer myself. Not a whole-lot but sometimes it can feel earned by that point. Airports can be stressful, confusing places, especially when you travel to some of the places I’ve been.

As for the medication-bit, that’s cool. I wasn’t suggesting that lots and lots of people trip on Valium to get them through a flight but it’s an innocuous need some people have before certain situations (dentist-appointment, flying), and things like that can often be prescribed for that. Just like how some people need a bit of beta-blocker (like propranolol or atenolol) to aid them with certain situations, like public speaking, and calm down their nervous system situationally like-so. Both sides are fine and fair enough.

Why not save yourself a job and let Tanya Branning (EastEnders) do the burying, like with Max 17 years ago?

Yeppity-yep. She will. After she’s rejected Oscar again.

Are we liking Oscar as a character? I think he's quite a chip off the old block.

Definitely a chip off the old block, but I hate how messy his introduction-storyline’s been. Knives and debt is not a good way for him to start, and it’s annoying having to get through those scenes, but I do actually think he’s alright in himself.
