Dogs or cats?
What kind of a person are you more of - a dog-person or cat-person?
|
I used to always be a dog person but now I'm a cat person. I've owned a few dogs over my life but I had one dog in particular and when I lost him it was like I could never fill that space again with another dog so then I switched to cats
|
Not that I really love cats, either but … ya,

Wendy, my deaf indoor cat. Love of my life, spoiled rotten. |
I've never had a Dog tbf.
So I'm going with Cats, I always strike up a good bond with them, even if they treat me as apart of their litter with the playful biting and scratching of my hands. Especially the current Cat that we've got, she sees my hand as a chew toy.:joker: |

In life I’ve tolerated a lot of people I never really liked for a minute to keep the peace but with animals you’re pretty unequivocal about where you stand, and that’s good. You don’t have to pretend with animals. You either like them and maybe even want to pet them or you don’t.
There was a time when I was living with flatmates who I had reason to not like, bar one, and I low-key wanted to get a cat just to have some living thing in my environment I did like and feel comfortable around and pets can be like that. A source of comfort when you’re surrounded by so much crap and trash. They’re really not there to judge you, drain your life-force or hold you back with a barrage of gaslighting and reverse-victimhood. You don’t need to be more generous to pets than they deserve because you have a good heart despite practically hating the people. They don’t ask you retarded questions like why you never really let them be you friend. That’s the job of people from hell. A cat or more goldfish (fish are one pet I did have growing up) would’ve got me through a lot in 2021. |

Have they ever brought back half-chewed mice for y’all as a “present? |

Weirdly, put a man in front of me and i'll fight him. Put a dog or kitten in front if me, they win!
On the whole, animals are so much better that people |

…I’ve been more a dog person all of my life because I haven’t personally known cats …but I have two grandkittens now and they’re incredibly adorable and filled with gorgeous characters, so I’ll be boring and say both dogs and cats…

Dogs and cats for me, they both bring something different to the party. As big as my dog is, the cat totally bosses him. The cat - Louie - will think nothing of swapping the dog's face or giving his ear a nip. The dog looks at me with an expression that says, wtf just happened? Also, Louie likes to bring in live critters, mice mostly, let them go and watch me try to catch them. I love him, but he's a little sod.
My cousin visited yesterday with her four month old labradoodle. I nearly died from an overdose of cute |
I like both I’m an animal person in general

If you'd asked me a few years ago, I'd have said I staunchly preferred dogs and didn't much see the appeal of cats at all. But over the last year or so, I've become really quite fond of cats. Recent cirumstances in life have made it so that I find myself walking through the neighbourhood a lot more than I once did, and doing so has made me come into contact with a fair few stray alley cats, many of whom are surprisingly trusting and keen to make themselves noticed lol.
But even before that, despite historically preferring dogs, I always said I'd probably prefer to own a cat, simply because they're much more hand-off, savvy, and low-maintenance than a dog requires of its owner. |
I think I’d name my cat Squiggles.

Knowing you , you would probably start questioning the cats mental health And are they taking about you behind your back to other cats . |

I prefer dogs.
I'd always choose a dog over a cat for a pet. However I like cats too and friends cats seem to like me too. One the minute I visit sprawls over my legs and purrs while I stroke it's ears. |
cats are demon spawn

I will always prefer dogs as they have so much care & empathy for their owners & people in general, they are also so much useful and clever than cats . You get dogs rescuing , helping the blind & even in police searches. If you fall or injure yourself a cat will just " meow" and either scratch your face ,or if they're in their typical lazy behaviour... they'll strut past you and leave you alone. |
