Emma Barnes: And Labour’s definition of a woman?

Annaliese Dodds: Well, I have to say that there are different definitions legally around what a woman actually is. I mean you look at the definition within the Equality Act and I think it just says someone who is adult and female, I think, but then doesn’t say how you define either of those things. I mean that’s then… you’ve got the biological definition, the legal definition, all of this kind of thing.

Emma Barnes: With respect I didn’t ask for that. What’s the Labour definition?

Annaliese Dodds: Well, I think with respect Emma I think it does depend what the context is, surely. You know there are people who have decided to…that they have to make that transition. You know, I’ve spoken with many of them. It’s been a very difficult process for many of those people, and you know understandably because they live as a woman they want to be defined as a woman. That’s what the Gender Recognition Act – again a Labour process – brought into place.

Emma Barnes: Context is all, but trans women are women from your perspective?

Annaliese Dodds: But, but then when you come to the Equality Act, and you know Emma I’m not going to…

Emma Barnes: No no, you’re just Shadow Women and Equalities Minister.

Baffling

The truth is that everyone knows the difference between men and women. Distinguishing
between the sexes is an evolved instinct that we share with other species, and we were
doing it long before anybody knew anything about chromosomes and genetics.

Dodds needs to find the courage to ignore future attempts by entitled caucuses
to control her diary, and she needs to avoid them controlling her thinking. She
knows the difference between men and women in the same way that everybody
else knows it really, but will she be able to put that instinct at the heart of
equalities legislation? The time for obfuscation and ‘it depends’ is over. If she
does see sense it will upset the LGBTQ+ lobby (who, let’s face it, are never
satisfied) but she might leave a legacy that endures.

Yeah it's perfectly ok for men to use ladies changing rooms & women's toilets then , because there's no differences biologically between us . And if any of us women dare question it or act concerned ...I guess we should just shut up and accept it.

There was even an article where a ' trans ' person was bragging about using women's spaces,and how there's nothing we can do about it. Now I ask you ...if they had an ounce of respect surely they wouldn't be gloating let alone getting pleasure from making women & girls feel uncomfortable .

Waaah help, someone doesn’t hate trans people like I do!!

I reckon that anyone born with a willy should use the men’s toilets for the rest of their lives .

The way I see it if a genuine trans woman is using women's spaces & public bathrooms,they wouldn't be laughing in our faces afterwards as some weird " ha I've got them " act .

They would just use the facilities and we probably wouldn't even notice or care . You will never understand Slim so keep being as sarcastic as you like......as you're a man and there isn't really a rise in ' trans men ' making guys uncomfortable in men's areas, so you'll never see it from our point of view.

There's been Ministers for Women since the start of the 2000s.

Genuine trans women were using those spaces without any issues from 2010. Only when the anti-trans movement started suggesting excuses for predators to use, have any problems arisen.

That was not sarcasm, it was a clear observation based on what you'd written. I'd never say "if women had an ounce of respect, they should do x, y, or z."

I'd welcome trans women in males spaces, because all they want to do is get changed or use the toilets, but I'm well aware that most men wouldn't be as tolerant towards "chicks with dicks," especially with the constant screaming about them all being predators.

There's also been a rise in predators taking advantage of the self ID and you know this yet you continue to ignore it.

Even when Primark thoughtlessly introduced ' mixed changing rooms ' , surprise surprise men were over stepping the line ,and made a woman cry as they deliberately walked in on her changing. And that's just men in general.

And Why oh why is there so many suddenly identifying as " women" the moment they commit a crime, you've seen the articles. A wig and makeup does not change science instantly.

And womens prisons should never have biological men in there .

That's quite the laundry list.

Predators have started taking advantage of these things, precisely because these excuses have been pushed into public consciousness by those who are anti-trans.

Again, the rise in predators talking advantage of self ID, is directly correlated to the anti-trans movement telling people that self ID was a way to skirt the system.

Ok no worries , silly me for showing concern for some weirdos gaining access to women's spaces, must be my imagination . I guess I should just ' shut up ' as David Tennant knows best, maybe he identifies as a woman aswell.

It's funny how you talk about 'anti trans' whilst ignoring the utter contempt people seem to have for a woman or any women who dares speak their mind on this topic.

You're just building up straw man after straw man. I haven't said you should shut up, I haven't said you're imagining anything, and I certainly haven't mentioned David Tennant.

If you have grievances with trans people, then that's on you to deal with however you choose, but don't bring them up against me to try and rally the cause, because this is when I will start calling you out for imagining things.
