Iv just been attacked by wasps!

Stung twice on my stomach, twice under my arm and 4 times on shoulders and back!

I was doing front grass and i had not noticed a wasps nest under a small bush at my front door.

I always have wasps each year like under the back steps or in a tree or in the front air vent but i know where they are and just leave them to it and they leave me.

So i banged the bush with the lawnmower and the next thing i saw what i thought was a fly and got a sting on my stomach, so I thought it was a horse fly and then i got stung under the arm and they were all over so i flew inside and took off my tea shirt and they were like 6 in there and they just flew out and went for me. I was running around with a rolled up Daily mail in a fight to the death and the dog was going nuts.

Anyhoo im doused in vinegar and nipping all over.

When will society finally take notice and do something about the scourge of the white anglo-saxon protestant.

My worst nightmare. Get well soon.

AnnieK 23-07-2024 05:46 PM

Hate wasps....never been stung by one. Have only ever been stung once in my life by a bee that was chilling on my washing and I never saw it

Had a panic attack as I was convinced I would go into anaphylaxic shock and die.....obviously I didn't but felt awful that the bee would now die.

I wish death to all wasps though

Have you any antihistamines/ allergy tablets ??

One will normally stop the pain fairly quickly

LT stirring up wasps nests even at home.

I'm curious about the vinegar. I never knew it was a wasp repellent. I'll note it for the future

I didnt know that either. I wonder what gets rid of cockroaches and spiders?

Cherie 23-07-2024 06:18 PM

Oh that would be terrifying... good job you are not allergic, you would be ded

Crimson Dynamo 23-07-2024 06:20 PM

wasps hate the smell of vinegar. Its also good if you get stung as the sting is alkaloid, opposite for bees. TCP is good too

My daughter just recently got stung on her eyelid and her eye puffed up like she had been boxing - she ended up at the doctors as she also has eczema in her eyelids and the whole thing was a sh1tshow

…putting conkers around the house seems to ward off spiders…a bit like vampires and garlic, I guess…?….with cockroaches, though…you’re probably doomed…they’re resistant to everything so they say…

bots 23-07-2024 07:00 PM

we have hornets down this way now. You certainly don't mess with them

hijaxers 23-07-2024 07:12 PM

Well my sadly deceased partner fell into a wasps nest when he was young , A & E counted nearly 200 stings and it nearly killed him !
