I really want to question why anybody would be pushing to want to marry a pre-pubescent child?

And in this case I don't care about "respecting different cultures" because everybody should know that wanting to have a sexual/romantic relationship with a 9 year old is wrong.

Politicians in any country don't push policies forward without at least 20 to 25% of their vote base backing them on it.

Even when 15 year olds were marrying it was still wrong,but they used culture as a reason.

You can't use anything as an excuse for pushing to marry a little child who hasn't even reached puberty yet . Grotesque paedophilila basically being enabled .

In Yemen there is no minimum age if its with parental consent. This will usually be a business deal with the family of the bride gaining some reward.


Also, Afghanistan and Sudan have the age of puberty with family consent.. The Personal Status Law of Muslims, 1991, allows the marriage of a girl from puberty. Ten years-olds can be married with judicial authorization. The Marriage of Non-Muslims Act of 1926 sets the age of marriage at 13 for non-Muslim girls, and 15 for non-Muslim boys.

i'm sorry, but it's not, they actively want to reduce the age of consent in America, they actively want to take womens rights back to where they were in the 1700's. They want to revert to a time where it wasn't against the law to beat up your wife. JD Vance has already said publicly that he wants to stop women being able to leave violent relationships. They want to monitor womens periods and pregnancy so that they can't attempt abortion. Educate yourself. It is not far fetched at all
