I don't watch remakes (or historical films) with colour blind casting and, in this case, dwarves who aren't dwarves.

Ditto. I'd forgotten this movie was even still happening tbh. I'd half-written it off in my mind as being a cancelled project like Batgirl was. :laugh:

I'm just going to be blunt and say it.

Isn't one of the big narrative points of the original Snow White supposed to be that Snow White is prettier than the Evil Queen, and that the Evil Queen is meant to be fuelled by jealousy around that to some extent?

So why on earth is Gal Gadot (one of the most attractive women currently in Hollywood) playing the Evil Queen?

Presumably the same reason Joss Stone played the supposedly ‘grotesque’ looking wife of Henry Vlll in The Tudors series .. viewer numbers

Why not cast them for more appropriate roles though?

Gal Gadot being the Evil Queen kind of nukes a part of the narrative.:laugh:

And Joss Stone being the "ugly" Wife in The Tudors definitely doesn't sound like good casting at all.:umm2:

…(…I think it’s a good casting…:laugh:…)…The Evil Queen is evil but she’s also incredibly beautiful…hence the mirror, mirror in the wall…who is the fairest of them all…?..she’s always been the most fair and the most beautiful one until Snow White became more beautiful as she became an adult…?…Gal Gadot would be closer in age also to the Evil Queen than she would be to Snow White …she’s a bit younger maybe, but still close enough to be that character…Snow White, I guess would be late teens/early twenties…?…so Rachel Zeglar is a good cast for that character also, I think….

…in Snow White and the Huntsman …the Queen was cast as Charlize Theron, another incredibly beautiful lady…because before Snow White, she has always been the ‘fairest face in the whole land…’…

Well when I think back to the animated Disney made in the 1930's , The Evil Queen was never actually ugly physically :joker:...the ironic thing is she made herself ugly by posing as a old witch/ hag to trick snow white . But she was jealous as the talking mirror said Snow white was the ' fairest of them all' ,I guess snow white had youth and kindness on her side, oh and she could sing aswell ...which automatically made her prettier :laugh: .

Sort of reminded me a bit of the old, kids tv programme called goosebumps that I used to watch with my son on my lap, hugging tight when a little scared but loving the thrill of each episode. I'd have him on my knee right now if I could, bit that's by the by.

Will definitely be going out my way to see this.

I think that personally the casting should be having Snow White as the prettier character, casting Gal Gadot or Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen imo kind of makes that part where Snow White is meant to be the prettier one almost impossible to achieve imo.

I've never seen Snow White, I'm just going off of what I've heard other people tell me about the original Movie.:joker:

And I don't understand the decision of not hiring real actors ,I was laughing at the CGI dwarves skipping about :skull: .

you cant have a normal midget pretending to be a mentally challenged midget. Only time that would be allowed is if yoh mashed up any tom cruise movie with Forrest Gump.

The dwarves aren't mentally challenged,they all have different personality traits, ' dopey' is the only one who acts simple ...AHH that's a point do we still see happy acting happy and grumpy acting grumpy and so on :think: .

And even if Disney didn't want to hire real dwarves, they could have just hired real actors in general. Instead of going down the
lazy CGI route .

Dopey should be a AGI or whatever it is of snoop dog..with his voice.

It would take away the link of stupidity connected with dopey..AND FGS, SHAVE DOC, OR THE WORLDS GONNA THINK HE IS JUST SOME OLD MUSLIM FELLA TRYING IT ON.

And I don't get why they've spent money on CGI Dwarves either, just hire people with actual Dwarfism.

I'm sure Peter Dinklage would get over having some competition for roles.

I never understood Dinklage's beef with the whole dwarf thing anyway, I was also reading on IMDB that he didn't even know what the dwarves home looked like in snow white, and he mistakenly called it a "cave" ...... when it's actually a nice cottage.

Bear in mind he's very successful in his career and he gets big roles in acting , so hardly competition for him .

Not everyone is getting the roles he's getting, there was even comments saying odd things like "is there even 7 dwarf actors out there", it made my eyes rolls ....when there's plenty of dwarf actors , and probably more upcoming ones who don't get their big break, and are wishing they get chosen :shrug:.

I think the best thing would have been either cast real dwarf actors, or just hire real actors in general and do special effects like with Hugh Grant in Wonka, even that would still be better than entire lazy CGI .

Dinklage wants to be seen as the best Actor who has Dwarfism imo.

He doesn't like the fact that someone who is just like him, might come up and be better than him at acting.

Just to clarify, I think that Dinklage is a great Actor.

He is a good actor
But he's being a bit full of it then & a little selfish, anyone would think there's only room for 1 dwarf actor in Hollywood...which is ridiculous.

People like Warwick Davis came long before him anyway, and they didn't try putting other actors off certain roles.

…(..I think…)..both castings are extremely beautiful actresses and fulfil that…’who is the fairest…’…perfectly…but I understand if you feel that Gal could not be ‘out-beautied..’…I mean, she is the perfect and flawless Wonder Woman after all…
