R.I.P. Chelsea. Our beloved cockatiel.

At 6.30 this morning Chelsea, our beloved pet cockatiel aged 23, was found on the floor of her cage. We feel she probably passed away quietly, as she was in the corner where she liked to sleep.

We did have an idea it might happen as she'd become very clingy in the past week, and sleeping a lot.

Really sorry to lose her, some lovely memories, Karl had her virtually all her life. You get attached to pets and I've shed a little tear.

Fly with the angels little bird. Loved you so much.

Xxxx

Sorry to hear that. X

Thank you Ben. She was a great age for a small bird. Some consolation. Xx

Yes we did love, she enjoyed to nibble on pringles and pizza crusts besides her seed. We spoiled her. I used to have a picture on my phone but didn't transfer when I changed my handset, or I'd have posted her for you to see.

In the style of mock
At Least you know what’s for tea

thesheriff443 16-09-2024 08:29 AM

I’m going against the grain it lived for 23 years in a cage
People now saying fly high when it’s dead it should have of been flying in the sky when it was alive instead of in a cage

:nono: cockatiels are pets, they aren't outdoor birds. The other birds would kill them straightaway.

The loss of any beloved pet is sad,we feel that loss, to some she is "just a bird" to you she was a loved pal. sorry to hear it Kate

Beso 16-09-2024 08:42 AM

Do the cage was to keep other birds out?

Vanessa 16-09-2024 08:43 AM

Aw I'm so sorry Kate

It says they live between 10 and 14 years in the wild
Those birds are not native to this country
