Question

Can anybody tell me why there are there loads of fireworks going off?

What are we celebrating now? :thumbs2:

Scarlett. 14-07-2007 10:48 PM

There are'nt in Blackpool lol

Tanser_Man 14-07-2007 10:53 PM

Weird, i've searched for festivals that might coincide with this weekend and haven't found anything yet.

* France and all French dependencies - Bastille Day.
* Kiribati - Independence Day, 3rd day, not a holiday.
* Sweden - Birthday of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, an official flag day.
* United States - National Nude Day

I like the sound of celebrating national nude day but i don't think thats it!

There was firework's going off at a neighbours birthday party about a month back, any excuse eh?

Sunny_01 14-07-2007 11:15 PM

I imagine it is someone celebrating the birth of their pet cats kittens, like Dan said any excuse for fireworks these days!

cepb 14-07-2007 11:15 PM

Probably some personal celebration.

Tanser_Man 14-07-2007 11:16 PM

I'm not that silly!

The fireworks were going off everywhere, for about 20 minutes at around 11pm, it wasn't just Bill from number 2 celebrating getting a new haircut!

Weird

Well, I live next to a castle and there have been a lot of fireworks here too....

My theory is that it's Mid-July = Proms, Weddings etc.

Mrluvaluva 15-07-2007 12:27 PM

There was loads of fireworks in London last night too. I was watching them from my kitchen window. They seemed to be going off next to the eye.

Lauren 15-07-2007 12:30 PM

Also, haven't uni students just graduated too?

So thats proms, weddings, graduations.

Nob \Nob\, n. [Abbrev. fr. noble.]

A person in a superior position in life; a nobleman. [Slang]

Source: Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913)

Is that it? Looks lovely.

Lauren 15-07-2007 05:00 PM

Oooh... obviously when I call people nobs I mean that. Of course

Yeah thats it, my college is so close to it that we have tutor mornings inside the great hall.

Z 15-07-2007 08:47 PM

Shut it Lauren, you nobleman. Ohhhh I'm going to love using that ;)

That's weird. No fireworks up here though, I don't really see the fascination with them myself.. >.>

Lauren 15-07-2007 08:49 PM

I prefer the term nob, it's stright to the point. Noblemen is misleading, unless she has replaced her wangers with a wanga?!

Your showing your age gregg... there a fantastic **** of expensive smoke... there's so much to be fascinated by!
