Rochdale : Massive doll built as a Teaching Aid is creeping out a town
https://liveblog.digitalimages.sky/l...2fe277d7ee.png
[Residents have been left “freaked out” by a “creepy” giant baby puppet installed in their town centre. The 27ft-high figure, named Lilly, has been installed in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, by the council to encourage schoolchildren to talk about the environment. Rochdale borough council recorded what the children said to the baby and plan to broadcast their remarks from the figure’s mouth at an event in October. However, members of the public have been left unsettled by the baby’s “freaky” presence. Lilly is designed to start a conversation with schoolchildren on climate change] https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/202...ppet-rochdale/ |
Looks like something from a Tim Burton movie , i can see why people would find it creepy.

…crikey, it’s like a turn back time Squid Game prop… not a child friendly vibe at all…
|
that's creepy af
|
…she’s called Lilly and she’s so far apparently a big success with the children in discussing their environment and so far has had a great response…not so much with adults as she’s been tagged ‘Chucky Goes North’….

How unaware is Rochdale Council? I'd like to hear from the idiot who came up with this. I'd also like to hear from some kids, find out what they really think. The money would be better spent on Children's Services, given the town's recent history.

:joker: :joker: from about age 7 - 10 my eldest developed a massive fear of this sort of doll, I can only imagine her reaction if this had popped up in town.
We fondly remember what we like to call the "Toy Story 4 cinema incident" :flutter: Spoiler: |
