Narinder on Sky One
Hey, I watched Sky One earlier, wasnt planning to but my brother called me to tell Narinder was on a show called, 'Celebrities behaving badly' (my family are aware of my BB addiction!!).
And I am sorry to have to say this but I was so embarassed for Naz. I had stuck up for her in the past saying 'Why shouldn't she be famous?' but afer watching this show which was basically about celebs tring to retain their fame, I had a sudden change of opinion. She believed she could jump a queue to get into the TOTP studio and when she was told she couldn't go through, she complained to the manager and got really gobby and I was cringing. I think she needs to understand tha she cant be famous for being famous and that she has to actually have a talent or to have achieved something . A 40 yr old woman, a Mirror journalist said, 'Narinder be a TV presenter? Thats like me being the next supermodel, its just not going to happen' I had to laugh because it is so true, she has had her fame, she needs to accept that a lot of people i the 'celeb world' are fed up with her parading around the parties trying to seek attention (ie wearing revealing outfits) She has been gate crashing parties that she has not been invited to. This might seem harsh, as though I am being quite nasty but I am only being honest. She is nice (sometimes!) but she does need to accept that she is famous for being on a gameshow. Rant over. What do you all think about Narinder? Do you think she should give up now or carry on trying?:conf::spin2: |
Yeah, I watched this. I thought she came across quite well in the TOTP bit. I thought she was obviously playing to the camera when she jokingly said that she would get the security guard fired.
It was all a bit different though to the image she was trying to put across of herself in Ultimate Questions recently. This programme's repeated on Wednesday at 10 pm and later at 1.50 am. It's worth watching and Nick Bateman and Brian Dowling also put in appearances. |
No I don't think youre being nasty Widlchild, I've felt the same way as you in the past. I actually feel quite sorry for her.
I'm sure she could have been quite good on TV - well certainly no worse than some current presenters. She made the mistake of letting people know how desperate she was for fame, which automatically made her a joke in the eyes of the press, and they've made absolutely sure no TV company in their right mind would consider giving her a job. She hasn't helped the situation by turning up to the opening of a can of vimto, but I wish they'd give her a break. If I hear one more Narinder-media-***** jibe on tv or radio I think I'll scream! She wasn't my favourite housemate by any means and she made an awful fool of herself on the night of her eviction but she hasn't killed anyone for God's sake!:nono: It must be really really hard to see your best friend have the success you crave, and the rest of the world sneering if you so much as go shopping together. I wish her well and hope she eventually "does a Darius" and earns people's respect. She may have brought most of the criticism on herself, but it's gone on long enough now and I think we should let it go. Poor Naz! :wavey: |

Other celebrities featured were Chris Evans, Simon Cowell and Darius from Pop Idol. |
She didn't bother me much, but I don't think Narinder is that bad really. She's made a few bad decisions, encouraged by people who clearly did not have her interests at heart. Hopefully now she realises that when photographers tell you you look gorgeous, please pose that they are happiest to use the most gaudy image possible.
I missed the show myself, so I could be entirely wrong, but from what I've heard about it, Naz was having a laugh with it all. Unfortunately, the sort of people that comment on shows like this are as desperate for fame themselves, and will happily use anything and everything against her or any of their other rivals to undermine her status whilst promoting themselves. |
You're absolutely right Feefs about the sort of people who were commentating on the programme. People like Paul Ross and Polly Graham, who used to be one of the 3am girls for the Mirror, I think. They were horrible, of course, but I really don't think Narinder was having a laugh with it at all. Try and catch the programme tomorrow night and see what you think. I'd be really interested to know. I found the whole programme was really awful, and poor Naz came across as terribly pathetic. I felt so sorry for her. She seemed quite desperate and looked on the verge of tears at some points, I thought. Whoever told her that appearing on a programme made by Sky One with a title like Celebrities Behaving Badly (or some such name) was a good idea, doesn't have her best interests at heart. The programme makers even had her holding the heat magazine which voted her the worst dressed woman, and she said how much it had hurt her. I just wanted to say to her, oh give it up girl it's just never worth it. I thought she seemed humiliated and defeated by her experiences and I just don't know why she's pursuing what is so obviously a futile attempt to launch herself into a media career. Perhaps those of you who watched it will think I'm exaggerating but I really did feel so incredibly sad for her, I honestly did. Hope some more of you watch and comment but, be warned, I found it quite uncomfortable viewing!

I agree totally with you Peachy..there's nothing I can add!
:flower: |
I only caught the last 20 minutes or so of this programme, which included Paul Ross being really horrible about Narinder, and Naz talking about how she's slowly realising that she probably won't get anything out of appearing on Big Brother.
From what I saw, I totally agree with what you've said, peachy. However, I'm going to watch the repeat tonight to see what else was said before I make any other comment. :colour: :spin2: :colour: |
I forgot to watch this when it was repeated, but I have an avertion to Paul Ross, so perhaps it was for the best.
