Starting to like Lily 👀

Oh lord

I think I’m starting to change my mind on Lily. No where near as grating as her first few nights

There’s something really endearing and sweet about her

Actually this whole cast is great

I've loved her from the start. I've said a few times now, she was hyper on the first couple of shows as she got herself in the big brother house most of us would be excited too, but she definitely has a vulnerable soft side I've seen glimpses of it already and I think later in the show it will show that even more. She is my favourite at the moment

fredmeneedle 09-10-2024 08:49 PM

She's mad as a box of frogs and her agog expression when Nathan and Daze were having their political debate was comical.... you could see she was thinking "I can hear the words but I have no clue what is being talked about! hilarious. and why am I not surprised that she has a paranoid dog?

I felt the exact same as her though there were so many long words I couldn't take in the conversation at all trying to work out what capitalism means

Crimson Dynamo 09-10-2024 08:53 PM

Thanks for that Hannah

Losing her voice helped

I have to agree with you, elliebrew. The hyperactivity and the loudness made her unbearable for me in the first few days, but when she tones it down, she has some endearing characteristics, and I also found myself liking her more.

I think caring, supportive women like Martha and Ali coukd guide her to bring out the best in herself.

Like you, I like this year’s housemates, and am finding they all have something to offer.

rusticgal 09-10-2024 11:12 PM

Let’s wind back…loud and attention seeking…takes the piss out of Sarah for her accent..now suddenly she’s dim witted/child-like and has no friends in the real world…crying cos she didn’t think anyone would like her but did everything she could to piss people off…
Now they are all mothering her and empathising with her…

Let’s not be fooled…she could be playing a blinder here…time will tell.

wkdboy 10-10-2024 12:05 AM

I like her

I have liked her from the start, she needed to settle down, which is starting to happen, shes very immature, but also vulnerable. Daze saw that and played on it, and I was appaulled, game or no game, I thought Daze was bang out of order.

Tonight she showed those vulnerabilities to others and opened up more. She needs to stick with those who are kind and avoid the likes of Daze, but doubt she will see that and will fall into a trap.

You make a point that is well worth considering, and she had lost her voice today.

One thing for certain, though, a quieter Lily is much more preferable to the ridiculous, loud and erratic Lily.

It will be interesting to see how she develops as time goes by.

Yeah I think she's playing up the childlike dizziness, but I truly believe she really behaves that way on the outside world ...but she's hyping it up more.

I'm just glad she's calming down the screaming Banshee act a bit . I didn't mind her as much tonight.

I feel this is a very honest and well-considered appraisal of Lily, her behaviour and her relationships with others, and also of the Daze situation,

I have to be honest and admit I didn’t like the characteristics and the behaviour Lily displayed in the first few days, and I found her pretty unbearable. Your post has reminded me that every person is so much more complex than the persona that is presented at first, and that we will understand all housemates more deeply as the layers are revealed. Everyone has some redeeming features.

I felt terrible for Lily. I think her emotional maturity is on the lower end of those around her and her inability to read others accurately makes her an easy target. She does seem to put on an play to try to blend in with the group in her own way. I'm not sure she really understands why she is behaving the way she does and it may play into her insecurities about how others might perceive her and could be why she is so worried about being disliked. All just my guess though, based on what we've seen so far. Imo, Daze playing with her emotions was not only deceptive, but very inconsiderate of any harm that could have caused. I don't think the tears from Lily are 100% genuine, in the sense she's playing up any difficult emotions she may be having in order to cope with being around people who may not really know or understand her... Going to someone like Daze for emotional validation is a scary thought though after her behavior during that task... already a nonredeemable HM in my eyes.

It's one thing to be deceptive to win a game, it's a whole other thing to toy with people emotionally and then try to befriend them after you got your way.

In my view, this is a well-thought out assessment of the housemates you mention, and the events involving them. You’ve considered various reasons for Lily’s behaviour - she is difficult to read.

Initially, I judged her harshly, and put her behaviour down to immaturity and attention seeking. At times, I’ve wondered if she is trying to present herself as a combination of some of the most famous and successful housemates from the past, such as Nicky, Jade, Helen, etc. On other occasions, I’ve questioned whether her behaviour does suggest she is very naive, insecure and feeling vulnerable.

Whatever the reason, she definitely needs to develop more maturity and better social skills - she needs to tone it down and consider the impact of her behaviour on others in social settings. If this is all coming from a place of insecurity and a desperation to be liked, she isn’t, in my opinion, going to achieve her aim.

I believe your assessment of Daze, her behaviour and her relationship with Lily is spot on.

I saw a different side of Lily last night. Maybe because she lost her voice. :)

When she went into the house on launch night I was thinking "Kill me now. I can't put up with this screaming and inane behaviour for 6 weeks"!

I knew she was overexcited, like a child on Christmas day, She was overwhelmed as most of the others were.

I saw a different side to her in last night's episode. She's actually quite vulnerable and insecure. And very sweet. She shows no malice presently.

Hopefully she's calmed down now and I hope her journey in the house brings her more confidence and is a learning experience socially. She's young and naive but she needs to be wary of others who will take advantage of that.

Yes Daze. .

Great comment. I feel this mirrors my experience of Lily.

……I hoped she’d win you all over……for me, she’s one of the more layered personalities of the house…no one screeches and screams quite so much as she did if they have a confidence in themselves…but she’s settling because she realises that she’s accepted and that she’s liked…I think there’s a saying is something along the lines of…never judge a book by its screaming cover……

Haha. I think she just needs some reassurance from people that she is liked because she doesn't believe in herself. Martha and Ali showed her that she is loved and it even seems like Emma has taken Lily under her wing. As you say, screaming and shouting might get you noticed, but most probably for the wrong reasons. It's so hard to get people initially but we all have first impressions. In real life you might not meet that person again, and just walk away. In reality TV you can't do that (well you can but lose the game).

I want to see her blossom and become a confident young woman. This could be life changing for her hopefully.
