what the Iranian theocracy is to womens' lib. Digital Spy is not a forum that tolerates a lively exchange of ideas. Instead of furthering the cause of open debate, it stunts it. It embraces novel notions and lively debate as the pope embrarces (the late) Mother Theresa in a thong.
It is the forum where dialogue goes to die, where provocative posts are summarily deleted and where young bigots go to the Fuhrerbunker Disco to meet the disciples of Nigel and Donald. There is no tolerance on Digital Spy and no appetite for saying it as it is, for letting it all hang out. It is conventional and sterile. It is the graveyard of message boards.
Apropos post deletion, I notice that two or three of mine did not achieve print status on this BB 2024 board this week.

I hadn't been on DS for years. Probably about 7 years.

They actually did the dirty on me. I had about 12,000 posts and then they changed my password without me knowing and they said they'd sent me a message to my email box saying I had to reset it. :fist: But I wouldn't reset so I had to make another account and then basically thought FT! :fist:

So in a fit of madness I decided to check out the site again last week and posted something under my new username. Thing was I didn't get any normal replies as you'd expect on here. All I got were snide comments and sad attempts at oneupmanship.:nono:

…I recall back in the day it kind of being a bit of a yo-yo effect with TiBB and the dark side of DS….members would join here and say…omg, DS is awful an y’all so much better here, this is going to be my home forever….then a few infractions and a ban later …off they’d go again saying…I hate you all, this forum is nuts…!!!!!!!!….that isn’t really a thing anymore, we don’t have that Jets and Sharks vibe rivalry with DS because they’re barely a shadow of TiBB…:fan:…

I find it a good site, but they made a lot of changes which weren't great.

This is a smaller site so more intimate which is nicer in some ways

Back in the day you would never be able to keep up with DS, especially with BB. Traffic flow has slowed down an awful lot.

I do like both forums though.

I don't 'forum' as much these days though. I do try and get back into it, but it use to be a massive form of escapism for me

…yeah I have to say that I like both forums during BB season, they’re a contrast and it’s good to stretch out and listen to members on ‘both sides’ on what the vibe is there as well…I think so many BB fans were members of both forums and used to come and go freely as it were but there was always that ‘top spot’ rivalry as to which forum got any exclusive news first…:laugh:…

also very easy for threads in that forum to get locked, for example ''most attractive male/female'' threads in their strictly subforum got locked bc of being too ''inappropriate''
