Do you think there shouldn’t be an eviction until week 2?

BB1 and BB2 didn’t have an eviction until week 2 (and BB5 didn’t have one until week 4).

I found you could get to know all the housemates a bit better and could make a better judgement on who to evict.

Would you prefer that?

joeysteele 11-10-2024 07:32 PM

Yes I would.

GoldHeart 11-10-2024 07:35 PM

I remember BB5 postponing an eviction due to fight night, was another eviction postponed?.

I guess it might be nice to get to know these housemates more, but then will it just feel more rushed when they get back to evictions? . But I think there's a few housemates people want out now  .

Crimson Dynamo 11-10-2024 07:38 PM

Yes

I wondered exactly the same thing last night, as I just don’t feel we know some of those up for eviction well enough to make the best decision,

I have to add that I’d also prefer nominees to be decided by the votes of housemates, rather than by the outcome of a game.

MTVN 11-10-2024 07:48 PM

No I think there needs to be one with this number of housemates and to actually attract some viewers tonight

Cancelled the first eviction to rid of Kitten.
The had a fake eviction the second week.
And then cancelled the eviction week 3 because of fight night.

Davina on the fourth week was gagging for an eviction.

Adamw92 11-10-2024 07:56 PM

I do think it’s a bit crap that someone barely gets a week in the house so maybe it would be good to hold off until week 2.

smudgie 11-10-2024 08:00 PM

I am all for an eviction the first week, keep them on their toes.

_Tom_ 11-10-2024 08:35 PM

Yes, it feels way too early to be having an eviction this series.

BigAsher 11-10-2024 08:36 PM

Doesn't work with the amount of housemates we have, I can't be arsed with more backdoor evictions, or any quadruple evictions. If it was 12 housemates and 8/9 weeks then yeah it would work

_Tom_ 11-10-2024 08:37 PM

BB8's first eviction wasn't till Week 2 due to Emily's removal

I was just thinking that.

The evictions aren't really getting more viewers than normal shows these days, as far as I know.

andybigbro 11-10-2024 09:34 PM

Yes, but I also think it should last longer than 6 weeks.

This.

Mrluvaluva 12-10-2024 04:08 AM

Yeah we have to remember it only lasts for 6 weeks now. 16 HM's for it's timeline is huge. There's no time for fake evictions or bringing new HM's in. It's a different entity now. A condensed version essentially. Things have to happen quicker. I think so far it's better in the respect that it has a shorter run. Keeps the momentum going. I would love it to last much longer though. :)

For me, it gets better as time goes on. When there's less people in there you get to know them better. It wouldn't be the same though with, say, 6 people on launch night. It's the progression through the series that really makes the difference and the public input, although slightly manipulative sometimes, gives a chance for it to be immersive. I do have to make sure I watch the live shows otherwise I have to avoid social media. :)

I wouldn't change it for the world in it's present format.

bots 12-10-2024 07:54 AM

they should have had an eviction sooner, it's only 6 weeks

…I recall back in the day of 24hour live feed and when I first joined the forum…?…thinking that watching live feed and only watching highlight shows was like following to different stories…because the condensing down on the HL shows doesn’t give an accurate picture in comparison…I recall with the Stuart and Amma argument, that was particularly true and in the HL show I was screaming…‘that’s not how it was..’….but it also all blends together beautifully…(somehow…)…in terms of creating those discussions and how we all see the same…yet our thoughts go off in different directions of seeng that same thing…

There was definitely an eviction too early, and a fun interesting housemate went out.

Which leaves deadwood like Segun still in there. I think I've heard the guy say aonly one sentence.

rusticgal 12-10-2024 11:49 AM

Definitely...it used to be like that anyway. It does give people more of a chance to come out of their shell and we can see what they are really like.

Kate! 12-10-2024 11:50 AM

Yes definitely but the show needs either a longer run or 12 hms instead of 16.

BBDodge 12-10-2024 11:54 AM

It's a 6 week series so they need to get moving quicker.

For BB1 the first eviction was on day 15, 2 weeks after the Friday launch though we didn't see them on TV until the first HL show on the Tuesday.

For BB2 the eviction was also on day 15 but we had seen them for a full 2 weeks as there was a HL show on the day they entered.

After that it was mainly on day 8 (a week after the Friday launch).

This year with a Sunday launch the 1st eviction was only on Day 6.

Phone lines, of course, opened a few days before the eviction so in Ryan's case we only had a few days before we could start voting.

millyrose 12-10-2024 12:57 PM

Yes get to know them a bit more
