Will's comment about it making a change from her being chained to the M25 :skull:

I think Lily has some special needs? she looks incredible vacant at times and eating bogeys and thinking it is okay, you work in the food industry, I would imagine sales will drop like a stone if she returns?

Ew gross I hadn't even thought about that, hopefully she just takes the orders and isn't anywhere near the food

I have questioned that myself, Cherie, as I can’t quite work her out. However, despite suggesting she cannot follow intellectual discussions, she actually seems to have quite a wide vocabulary and is able to use it correctly, which isn’t typical of someone with special needs. I also think, that if she was truly special needs, the producers would be unlikely to select her as a housemate, as they would be bound by a duty of care.

The fact that she has been shown doing exactly as she claimed with the contents of her nose, though, and then suggesting in conversation that she had no awareness of an alternative way of dealing with the matter in hand (quite literally, in her case,) was pretty bizarre!

I’m finding myself questioning more and more whether a lot of this is an act, and if she is trying to present herself as a combination of successful housemates such as Nicky, Jade and ‘blinking’ Helen from Wales.

Something about her is just not adding up for me.

I would rather they were up for eviction or cannot vote. Hardly a punishment getting more special airtime. Maybe if they banned them from talking to each other and others.

Yeah Garfie I agree with all that

Ugh.
I never even thought of that or picked up on it.
Ugh

They should stop Daze from preaching and insist that she can only ask questions ..

Agreed. I liked the way it used to be done. They take away privileges only to return them within days it feels like. Oh you messed up and your food budget is basics? Aww.. We'll offer you a cake task with free cake in a day or so, no worries... we never really get to see the special effects of their bad decision-making anymore.

Yup…you can imagine the opportunity for Lily to have another childlike meltdown opportunity…

Who even casually admits to those gross habits, what next is Lily going to confess to not washing her hands or not flushing the toilet :yuk:. How can people find this endearing?..... she's 20 acting like a literal toddler with who hasn't developed their skills yet .

Even Hannah described her as a health hazard.

Plus Lily started the rule break ,by asking Daze the question in the first place. Daze foolishly took the bait :bored: .

It’s not even that she is casually admitting to this gross habit - she is openly doing it in front of the other housemates, and has been caught doing so on camera!

I don't think Lily has any learning disabilities. I just think she's socially unaware. I've seen some things where she's surprised me with her vocabulary or her understanding of certain things. I think she most probably has had quite a sheltered life and doesn't know how to conduct herself around other people. She's already said she doesn't have many friends and worries if people like her or not. This could be a learning curve for her. Some people develop slower than others.

The punishment was quite tame though. The chains weren't even short. Loads of room to move around. Lily and Daze treated it like a slumber party.

Thomas was pumping an airbed up and Daze was pulling it away to check it was inflating correctly. Obviously no experience of airbeds...

I noticed that Daze was telling Lily to use alternate hands to pump up the bed , then feet then suggested she used her mouth o blow it up .. yet just sat there watching, chuckling out suggestions

I agree she seems socially unaware - in fact, for me, she is severely lacking in social skills for a 20 year old.

She doesn’t even seem to be aware of very basic norms of behaviour in a social setting. Yet, these are skills she surely would have been taught at home and would have been demonstrated, and expected of her, during her schooling?

If I had a child of any age behaving as Lily does, as a responsible parent, I would be addressing it for her own benefit, by setting expectations and boundaries to help her learn and control herself. Surely, as a parent, you would want her to learn age appropriate behaviour in order for her to be able to fit in, make friends and be accepted?

Part of me is truly wondering whether this is an act to gain airtime and make her stand out.

Yeah. I think she's most probably been sheltered from normal social settings, apart from going to college etc, but maybe she didn't have much interaction with other students? We don't know much about her upbringing but she has mentioned this is the first time away from her parents. She's calmed down a lot. The fact she asked Ali about nasal hygiene shows she hasn't been taught certain things and she just thinks picking her nose in front of others is socially acceptable. Sometimes she shows awareness about things going on in the world but other times not. She's a conundrum!

Conundrum! You’ve identified the perfect word to sum her up!

What 20 year old hasn’t been taught nasal hygiene!?
What 20 year old believes it is the norm to pick her nose and eat it, especially in public, and on national television!!?
What 20 year old hasn’t been taught to use a tissue!?
This surely can’t be real, can it!?

She says she has worked at the Chinese Takeaway for 6 years, which suggests she will have had lots of human interaction with colleagues and customers, and she must have demonstrated appropriate behaviour to have maintained a job for so long .

She has also had 13 years in school/college, and even if she didn’t make close friends, she will have observed social norms in others, and her teachers will certainly have addressed any inappropriate behaviour, and explained expectations!

And, surely, no family is going to ignore the behaviour she demonstrates!? I mean, how could anyone live with her noise and chaos, not to mention her nasal habits, without addressing it!!? :conf2:::yuk:

Something just doesn’t add up! It’s not normal! I’m bewildered!

I agree. I can't comment on her parenting as I have no idea how she was brought up but you would think she was taught some social etiquette. She just doesn't seem to know how to interact with others in a social setting and know what's acceptable. I can't decide. Surely someone can't keep up the pretence of being socially inept for so long? I just don't know.
