The lack of Thomas Time - Be fair BB!

I have always been a fan of Thomas from the very start and the fact he has hardly been shown makes me wonder if he has done something to annoy the producers. Was he meant to stay in storage for the duration of the show...because he may as well have done. He has never been seen as a full housemate and always been a none housemate in terms of the HL and L&L shows.

On live feed you see Thomas having fun, chatting with most people and being as big character wise as any other housemate (bar Lily!:joker:)

Last night he was balancing on one leg and "ladding" about just like the others and Segun tried to do the same thing but guessing as Tom is involved it won't meet the HL show again.

He is seen as boring and dull... is this because he wasn't invested in a showmance with Lily and shut that down? Would things be different if he entertained Lily like some people initially thought on launch night in storage?

BP is dull but has Nathan.
Segun is dull but has Hanah
Sarah also can be dull at times but has Marcello to bounce off.

I don't think Tom is dull but maybe he didn't fit into BB box they had planned for him so just decided to cut him out completely. He has a 12 hour task...yet zero to little was shown.

At this rate his best bits will consist of all new things we haven't seen because they haven't shown him at all.

It is a shame as they may have well out an older male in for Emma to have different chats with or something.

He wasn’t suited for BB this year. He would have done better in last years casting.

Thomas has Hanah, you only needed to look at her reaction when he was saved in the eviction. He is a major part of that squad, so it is a mystery why he is not shown more

GlitterUK 07-11-2024 04:50 PM

I see Hanah more on Khaled and Segun than Tom.

Maru 07-11-2024 06:03 PM

I wonder if it's because of the editing of the boys (the toxic masculinity storyline) and his disability, if they're maybe more sensitive in lumping him in with the main story, because then it may smear him unintentionally... or... he's so normal he ruins every storyline they try to attach him to with practical & balanced commentary... I think it's the latter... (edit: or both!) ...

He's clearly not trying very hard at all to win the show and by not featuring him, he's still there  ...

Cherie 07-11-2024 06:20 PM

He and Segun seem very popular in the house, but the we dont generally see the people who get along with others as they are not good TV I guess, we wouldn't have seen much of BP either if she wasn't in a showmance, I think Lily would have had a showmance with Thomas but he was not interested which shows his character I think

Crimson Dynamo 07-11-2024 06:20 PM

Just dont do DEI picks BB

Look at Kamala Harris of Humza YOusef

it always blows up in your ass

I like Thomas, he does seem like a nice guy but I’ve always had this feeling and I feel bad when I say this, is that he was chosen by producers literally because he has one arm and one leg and it’s the shows way of trying to diversify and have a housemate with some kind of disability.

I don’t think the producers are actually interested in his interactions with the other housemates unless it’s causing some sort of conflict (e.g. Him and Hanah with the mud throwing at Nathan).

I also think that the fault does lie with the fact that there’s too many housemates in there and there isn’t enough time to show all interactions that are going on. A fair chunk of housemates have been evicted now and we have only just started to really see snippets of him in the highlights and there’s only just over a week left.

I actually feel bad for him because now should be the time where we should see more of him and actually coming into his stride a bit but with a week left, it’s too late and I think that fault lies with the production.

…yeah, I agree with most of what you say, he’s just starting to come to the forefront now a bit more because there are less housemates and he may get more and more airtime in the next few weeks but other housemates have already established opinions and fanbases etc because they’ve been more visual in highlights…I also agree that ‘conflict/drama…and task time and rule breaks and any twists etc are the main interest to the producers…this has been a good season but for me…?…it’s kind of a hybrid of Channel 4 and Channel 5 and with still a huge focus on creating hero/ Lilian type housemates…and for some housemates…?…that sadly won’t leave them a big airtime part until nearer the season end…(…if they survive…)…it’s not their fault/it’s not Tom’s fault, obviously…

We only have seven highlights shows left before the final.

…gosh, is it next Friday, the final…?…in my head, we had another two weeks after tomorrows eviction…

Adamw92 07-11-2024 07:08 PM

He is not that boring though, on the live feed he is always chatting and having a laugh. It is a shame they just have him as a tick box.

Cherie 07-11-2024 10:41 PM

We didnt even see his sabotage task

UserSince2005 07-11-2024 10:42 PM

They should secret evict him and wait and see how long it takes the housemates and public to realise he’s gone.

He’ll probably still be there in the house for next years BB as they’ve forgotten he’s there.

Yeah ,why didn't we see him do his part in the task, we didn't see what Ali did either ...or Sarah :conf: . Surely BB could have shown all 3 tasks.

Tbf, we could argue anyone in this line-up (bar maybe Lily and Ryan) were DEI castings going by your logic, which tbh probably holds some truth to it.

It's not really fair to just single Thomas alone out for DEI casting imo.

GlitterUK 10-11-2024 10:59 PM

So they freeze the vote THEN decide some scenes of Thomas on the highlights show what a joke!

Withano 10-11-2024 11:31 PM

He’s a nice guy

But there was a bit of him in the diary room explaining that he was bored because he has already talked to all of the housemates - as if he was struggling to do more of this.

I think he has less airtime because he has less to contribute

GlitterUK 10-11-2024 11:34 PM

I don't agree with that on the live feed he doesn't shut up, He is always in conversations and having fun.

GoldHeart 11-11-2024 07:23 AM

In last night's HL we were seeing more of him , especially in the phone task getting ice cream.

Kate! 11-11-2024 07:32 AM

I laughed when he said right let's all go round the table and say what we don't like about Nathan!

bots 11-11-2024 07:52 AM

He is great lad and it’s good to see some one so young but so mature living with his disability and making the most of life

Was in London on Saturday in boots and one of the make up assistants was deaf but had a dedicated interpreter for her

First time I’ve seen that
