Can someone explain to me the selection process for the 4 that entered The Vault?

I feel like there was no official statement on this or I have amnesia. I understand Segun selected the 3 to join him the first time but I am at a loss to understand the latest selection process. I haven't really read much on the forum today so feel like I may have missed something.

If you're talking about the one that led to Sarah & Tom's eviction, it was literally the 4 housemates with the lowest votes . BB told them to go to the vault.

Then the remaining housemates had to guess who would be evicted/ have the least public votes . They guessed correctly & the prize fund stayed the same. Sarah & Tom received the lowest public votes to win ,so they both got back door evicted .

I just can't see where that was officially confirmed though. Any pointers?

Well BB called those 4 to the vault,so we're led to believe out of all 8 remaining that - Segun,Sarah, Nathan & Tom had the lowest overall votes combined .

I don't think BB did a fake bottom like IAC? ...but then again I do think Nathan may finish quite high in the final...but who knows ,as it was mentioned ...the public
have been ' voting to 'save' / 'win' . And I think Segun will finish
in 6 th place in the final.

They surely didn’t just give a spoiler for 6th and 5th place…

I’d like to think it was a producer decision for good tv

My point is. Nobody knew when it was initially announced how many would be entering The Vault. Some assumed it would be all 8.

For me, that would be far more interesting, as you then couldn't work out the hierarchy in the other 6.

If it's true, that the 4 who entered The Vault had the fewest votes from the public, the process of elimination that happened would tell us that Nathan and Segun now had the least public support at that point and were the weakest in the winning stakes. I don't buy into that.

I'm cynical. I think a lot of the reasoning for this comes from hearsay.

In the first round it was notable that Segun had to pick the other 3 himself. This time BB chose the 4. Some might believe it was the bottom 4 but that's not necessarily so.

You understand where I'm coming from?

There has been no clear point on this

Well if it were the bottom 4 at that point then yes. Although things can change. BP, Sarah and Thomas fans now get to change their allegiance. I just think it's rather swayed.

I get what you're saying, but I believe Segun really has low votes & in the bottom 3 with Sarah & Tom. I have my doubts about Nathan, and BB probably put him in as a random one .

As it would give the game away, and ruin the surprise.

I guess we'll see what order the housemates finish in on the final.

But I'm thinking Sarah ,Tom & Segun really are low in public votes & Nathan was thrown into the mix randomly. As I keep thinking he'll finish high in the final.

But now do the public think Nathan, for example, is low in votes, thus potentially garnering him more support? Or Segun? We don't know how the current voting stands. It could be a clever ploy.

They should have just opened the vote to win tonight imo. A vote to evict and a vote to save/win are 2 very different things and have different outcomes.

Anyway...

Que sera, sera.

Yeah it is very weird how BB has done this , and it seems the backdoor evictions were plenty this series. Even Will was saying on L& L ....how the results may have been very different if it was 'VTE ' instead of ' VTW '.

I think people will assume Nathan & Segun were legit in danger to get evicted. But I don't think Segun will get enough support to finish any higher than 6th place, but the ploy has probably worked in Nathan's favour. As I keep thinking he'll finish 3rd place.

Cherie 13-11-2024 05:57 AM

Not sure BB confirmed it was the 4 with the lowest votes, he just said two would not be returning, if he had said 4 with the lowest it is unlikely Nathan would have been whining in the DR about being taken in for a second evening? unless they said it on L and L?

Ammi 13-11-2024 05:58 AM

…how I understood it as we were watching it…is that BB gave the four housemates to go into The Vault…two of which were the lowest voted…?…(…the other two, could have been placed anywhere in the votes…)…and obviously they did their bets to see if they correctly chose those two lowest, which they did…but the other two weren’t necessarily part of the lower voting…they just weren’t teo that would win the bet for them…but then others said that they all 4 were the lowest so it really wasn’t clear…/…I didn’t understand it to be all four, only two lowest and two others…

Ammi 13-11-2024 05:59 AM

…I think that I might replay it at some point today to see if it’s any more clear…

This is how I understood it as well

MTVN 13-11-2024 06:39 AM

It might have just been a random two but there's a very good chance that Segun and Nathan were 5th and 6th in the votes which makes it quite suspicious

Nathan seems to think they just did it to him to mess with him again after last night

Mrluvaluva 13-11-2024 06:40 AM

Let's say the roles were reversed though. Ali, Emma, Hanah and Marcello were put in The Vault. How would that have worked out?

My point being BB made the choices. Not the public nor the HM's. For all we know Marcello might have had less public support than Sarah at that point. So if he had entered The Vault he could have possibly gone. In my mind it was well thought out to get the best possible result in the producers eyes because only they know the public opinion and how they want to push that.

I don't like it when the choice is left to the powers that be.

What happened to democracy?!

:)

But, with all due respect , that's how it was perceived but not necessarily how it happened.

I question it.

…yeah, it absolutely sets thought processes in motion both inside the house and outside with the voters…I mean, this type of ‘end of game manipulation’ is another new beast for us, which we had when it went to Channel 5 and this adding another layer…so for me this last week has felt less like BB and the BB I love…it’s almost like they’re taking from other shows/maybe multiple ones and throwing it in there and it’s not gelling or flowing because it’s so messily being done…

They didn’t state this at all, but I think we can assume those were the 4 lowest voted housemates, based on what we’re seeing from the polls and bookies. It makes sense they did that because otherwise, for us viewers there wouldn’t be much suspense. (Ie, if they’d put in Thomas, Sarah, Hanah & Marcello most of us would have had no doubt who was going).

moon_peach 13-11-2024 08:27 AM

To clarify, afaik they didn’t say they were the 4 lowest. They did say ‘the two housemates with the lowest votes are part of this 4 and will be sent home’

No. They did explicitly state that the 2 housemates with the lowest votes out of the 8 would be part of the 4 taken to the vault and evicted.

MTVN 13-11-2024 08:40 AM

I think they could have come up with a better way of doing it

BB could have paired them up and had each of them go into the vault for a chance to win a modest amount of money (like £1k each) then the final pair is Thomas and Sarah who find out they're being evicted instead of being able to win money

But yet again everyone is assuming.

There's no official corroboration on how the process happened.

One person's views isn't the same as the next.

I would have been hard pressed to choose between Marcello and Sarah had he been selected instead of Nathan for example. They both have their own qualities, yet, misgivings for certain aspects.

Marcello was down in the first couple of weeks because of certain comments that came over, to some, as quite misogynistic. Sarah had her moments too as in "Stop The Gloats" etc.

I think that might have been more suspenseful.

bots 13-11-2024 08:55 AM

i thought they would leave the positions of the other 2 that entered the vault unknown, but BB specifically said the 4 housemates with the lowest votes. Obviously things can change by friday, but it's pretty unlikely, so i do expect Nathan and Segun out first.
