iPhone 15 issue

Gosh these apple phones create their own issues and it's always a missionary task to find a resolve :fist:

Anyone ever had the issue where Face ID randomly doesn't recognise you anymore and the pop says learn more about stolen device protection? Only when you get to that setting you can't even switch it off or do anything because you need Face ID yet guess what? Face ID doesn't even recognise you

Anyone ever had this issue?

Apple get on my nerves

I had a couple of issues with face recognition a while back .. i just restarted the phone each time and it stopped happening .

Its the same principle used on household computers or wifi routers or whatever .. it somehow sets everything straight .

I did restart and it hasn't changed anything. I also did the update to 18.5 or something that didn't resolve anything. I'm contemplating a reset but I'm afraid that will wipe out a lot of things

it's a new security feature that apple brought in with the latest ios version

To reset Face ID on an iPhone with Stolen Device Protection, you can:
Go to Settings
Tap Face ID & Passcode
Tap Reset Face ID
Tap Set up Face ID to set it up again

You can also turn Stolen Device Protection on or off by:
Going to Settings
Tapping Face ID & Passcode
Entering your device passcode
Tapping Stolen Device Protection
Turning Stolen Device Protection on or off

Stolen Device Protection requires biometric authentication with Face ID or Touch ID to prevent critical device and Apple Account operations. When Stolen Device Protection is turned on, you may need to:
Wait an hour before making changes to critical security settings or your Apple Account
Authenticate using Face ID or Touch ID again to update settings
Use a Security Delay, which requires a successful Face ID or Touch ID, an hour wait, then an additional successful biometric authentication
You can set up Stolen Device Protection to always require additional security measures, even when your iPhone is in a familiar location.

-------

So, if you are going to make changes, do it at your home location by default

Hey thanks for this and I understand and have tried it but the dilemma is, to reset Face ID you need to do Face ID and to turn off stolen device protection you need Face ID so I can't do either. Did they think this through :conf:

Gosh!

Apple support are pretty good at helping people out, either in store or online

Yeah Apple get so much bad press from Android users yet I along with millions of others think that Apple are amazing !!

We still have an original iPad 1 and a 2 that still work perfectly .. we both have had iPhones since the very first iPhone came out and we will never switch

Even have Apple Music and that’s incredible

Yes I like to moan about iPhone and consider crossing over when there's an issue but otherwise I don't think I could live without the iPhone

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 14-11-2024 03:26 PM

Thank you guys for your support. Now I need to find something else to moan about today :hehe:
