Call for DOG-free areas in Wales to tackle racism
The recommendation has been put to the Welsh government in a report
responding to its anti-racism action plan. Wales is 94% white https://www.allweatherdogwalkers.co....-pontypool.jpg There are calls for "dog-free areas" to be introduced in Wales as part of the Welsh government's anti-racism action plan. The plan, which has now been extended to include environmental factors such as climate change and rural affairs, was first launched in June 2022. The Welsh government sought the views of stakeholders including Climate Cymru BAME, which compiled the report. The study by the climate action group was carried out with Welsh government funding. It includes contributions from minority ethnic people who live in the North Wales region, students and professionals in the environmental sector. Contributors to the study noted barriers including a lack of green spaces in their local area. One of the report's recommendations to the government is to create allotments and "dog-free areas" in local green spaces. Andrew RT Davies, leader of the Welsh Conservatives - the largest opposition party in the Senedd - has called it "outdated virtue-signalling nonsense". He said it is "completely out of touch with the needs of the people of Wales". "Labour is stuck on yesterday's thinking, the kind that is being roundly rejected globally," he added. A Welsh government spokesperson said it is "committed to creating an anti- racist nation by 2030". https://news.sky.com/story/call-for-...snt-sf-twitter |

Barriers to outdoor activities includes the perception that growing food in gardens or
allotments is an activity “dominated by middle-aged white women”. Racist allotments |

It was all over the news Even the sad bbc |
It's just a load of gibberish.

The thing is, I agree with dog-free areas. I just don’t get the correlation to how having more is helping combat racism, and nobody reporting it seems able to explain it.
