What are you getting/hoping to get for Christmas?

My OH and I are getting each other new dry robes as we both want them (great for cold, dry winters days out by the fire pit with a beer or two).

We’re also getting a cheese and port hamper from family.

We’ll also be getting aftershave and probably an abundance of socks from other people.

Anytime now I start looking at things on eBay and WATCHING them … then in a few weeks I decide which things to buy …

Anything at all!

There's nothing I really need or especially want.

It's really cheesy but the happiness of giving others nice things even if small gifts is more than a pleasure for me. I don't buy for a lot of people due to circumstances. It's just Karl and his mum, a few close friends (6) who don't expect anything expensive but I know their tastes. And a handful of forum members will be finding a little bit of something from me in person or via post etc.

That's it really.

If you wear the divisive dryrobe – an ankle-length, waterproof dressing gown designed as an outdoor changing robe, with a £160 price tag – then you’ve probably already been mocked for it. Initially, the coat was made to give surfers privacy and warmth while changing outdoors. But recently, it’s been stripped of its original purpose and is worn by middle-class city dwellers on the school run. In my opinion, whatever your class, it looks like you’re wearing a tent. These coats should be left to those who are doing cold water swimming activities, not those roaming around London Fields with a matcha latte in hand.

Too much pressure on people to be buying presents at Christmas
Absolutely a waste of time and money
A chance for dicks to show off by buying over priced tat

I fcuking hate Christmas

I won’t be wearing it to the supermarket ever lol. It’s mainly for when we go camping and swimming but also great for by the fire pit.

I'd be willing to pay...

I have an old parka I wear at the firepit. It smells of smoke, I keep it in the porch

My old fire pit jacket is on its last legs. It’s served me well. :(

They do get stinky... Although it's quite an evocative smell.

My OH usually buys me a nice piece if jewellery. No idea what I'm getting though.

I am not hoping for anything

Kate! 21-11-2024 12:30 PM

If anyone would like a lovely Christmas card from me then by all means let me know and I'll happily sort one out if you trust enough to give an address privately. I won't turn up at your houses.
