Lancashire :Rawtenstall’s Christmas light switch-on with band East 17 : Cancelled

[Christmas On The Square was set to be held
at the town square this evening (November 23).

Now, the event has been cancelled due
to the poor weather that has been forecast.

East 17, known for producing Christmas number
one Stay Another Day in 1994,
were set to headline.

[Organisers say they are disappointed about
the decision to cancel but said the yellow
weather warning for snow and rain has
“made it impossible” for the event to go ahead.]

Well Done Bert

Many others have also Stopped the Xmas Lights
as they do not have the cash.

I picked that place
as a Top Band was booked.
But no money for them.

Others stopped due to Storm Bert Weather

So the Rawtenstall event with East 17 was stopped by the expected storm or lack of funds ?

If the storm was the reason why not just delay it for a day or three ?

I would imagine so yes .. their last hit song was 25 years ago and since then their lead singer somehow managed to run himself over with his own car .

That’s maybe for the best !

Let doctors/ nurses/ whoever open these types of events as a mark of respect and gratitude
