The Video Game League.

Basically on this thread I am going to rank the last 13 Video Games in order of my favourite to least favourite, and yes I have wrote them down on a Document.

And I will eventually keep updating my "League" after I've played the next 13 Games and so on and so forth.

I really love Video Games, even if I am more critical of them nowadays than I have been prior.:joker:

And obviously if any of you guys want to do your own lists, then please go for it.

Anyway here's my list.

Video Game League:
1. Stellar Blade
2. Lollipop Chainsaw: RePop
3. Mafia: Definitive Edition
4. The Order 1886
5. Murdered: Soul Suspect
6. Fallen Girl - Black Rose And The Fire Of Desire
7. Saints Row The Third Remastered
8. Chaos Legion
9. Final Fantasy X HD Remaster
10. Super Mario Party Jamboree
11. Clock Tower 3
12. Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2
13. God Of War 2018

The only one that I truly didn't like on my list has been God Of War, it bored the pants off me.

My top 9 I thought all struck a chord really well with me, although Chaos Legion and FFX could've both had more finesse with certain elements of their gameplay imo, but overall I thought that they were solid Games.

Stellar Blade, Lollipop Chainsaw, Mafia, and The Order 1886 were amazing Games imo, for totally different reasons.

Stellar Blade - I really loved the boss fights, the characters, and the world setting, and even some of the regular fights were an event.

Lollipop Chainsaw - Really fun characters, combat, and brilliant Comedy, it parodies American culture so well imo.

Mafia - I was expecting more of a rough experience with Mafia given that it was the first installment of the series, but the gameplay was good and the narrative was really solid imo, especially as you dig further in.

The Order 1886 - An interesting alternate take on Great Britain, the narrative is definitely the strength of The Order 1886 for me, but the combat is decent as well I think.

I've played enough Games to finally update this list.

In order of favourite to least favourite.

Video Game League:
1. Stellar Blade
2. Lollipop Chainsaw: RePop
3. Mafia: Definitive Edition
4. The Order 1886
5. Murdered: Soul Suspect
6. Forspoken (New Entry)
7. Fallen Girl - Black Rose And The Fire Of Desire

14. Chaos Legion
15. Final Fantasy X HD Remaster
16. Astro Bot (New Entry)

24. Silent Hill 2 Remake (New Entry)
25. Lost Judgment (New Entry)
26. The Quarry (New Entry)
27. Perfect Dark (New Entry)

To elaborate on the new entries, starting with the ones that I liked.

Forspoken - I was pleasantly surprised by Forspoken, I was expecting a really terrible Game based on how people were talking about the Game, and based on how some of the cutscenes looked on Twitter out of context.

But the Game imo was a lot of fun and severely underrated imo, and the "Woke" tag is harshly thrown at the Game imo, it's basically a story that wouldn't be that amiss in a 90's WB Fantasy Show (unless they're Woke retrospectively now,) and it even had a cool twist that reminded me of a certain FPS Game from the PS3/360 generation.

And I personally liked that the Open World was big, but not overwhelmingly big with a lot of boring quests to pad the Game out artificially.

The combat was also fun and addictive I thought.

I honestly believe that if this Game came out in 2003 instead of 2023, we'd be hearing about a Forspoken 2 being in development due to building up a cult following.

And look, I'm not saying that the Game is a 10/10 (because I don't believe that it is,) but I do think that it has more merit to it than a lot of people give it credit for.

Red Dead Revolver - Where it all began for the Red Dead franchise.

I personally found it to be really fun.

Don't get me wrong, it's very different to the two Redemption Games in the sense that it's not Open World and plays a lot more like an arcade Game.

And the narrative is good imo, but it's a lot more subtle about it compared to the other two Games in the series.

It is a really fun Game though, it's just the other 8 Games above it I also thought were really good too, and in certain cases more unique experiences.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter - I do like myself some Sherlock Games.

This Game is really good if you just want to chill out and investigate cases through interrogations and puzzle solving instead of fast paced action or tense atmospheres like Survival Horror Games can give.

Overall I would personally recommend anyone to check this Game out.

Spark The Electric Jester - I have just finished beating this Game earlier today and it was definitely an experience.

I do really like the Game for the most part, imo Spark 2 & 3 are more polished experiences imo (probably my bias towards the Sonic Adventure style tbf,) in particular stage 15 was a bit too hard for my personal taste, it kind of spoiled that particular section of the Game for me personally.

But it has definitely got me back in the mood to replay Spark 2 & 3 eventually as the first was a lot of fun to play.

Steel Assault - It's a very short Game I'll be honest, it's about 5 levels if I'm not mistaken.

But the levels that you get are very fun action oriented gameplay that feels reminiscent of the SNES/Megadrive era of Games.

And the difficulty is a bit brutal I won't lie about that.:joker:

Luigi's Mansion 2 (3DS version) - It's a replay go for me.

But it is a really good Game, I recommend to anyone that likes Nintendo Games to give it a shot if they haven't already.

Astro Bot - Should it have won GOTY? Imo no.

Does it have annoyingly high requirements to progress through the Game? Yes, definitely.

But is the Game fun despite it's flaws? Definitely yes, and it's especially shocking that Sony themselves made it.

Blinx: The Time Sweeper - It's an alright Game for the OG Xbox, but the difficulty does get extremely irritating as it goes along for my personal taste.

Ghost Of Tsushima - The main story was decent imo, but the combat and the Open World aspects were executed in a way that just irritated me, in particular the Open World just felt like it was there to artificially drag the Game's length out, rather than the Open World quests being fun for the player, but being 5-10 hours shorter overall.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D - Tbf the team that made this version were working on a much smaller budget than the Console versions of the Game.

But for my personal enjoyment there just wasn't enough modes on the Game to keep me interested.

Silent Hill 2 Remake - I love the original version of the Game, imo it is one of the best Survival Horror Games of all time with one of the best narratives in fiction imo.

And I'm sure that the Remastered is probably a fun version as well, even with some of the technical flaws that I've heard are meant to be there.

But the Remake is a far cry from the OG back on the PS2, on a multitude of fronts.

1. The combat is too clunky (even for Silent Hill) but also extremely aggressive, which is not how Silent Hill in general was, they were eerie experiences that at their core were walking simulators with puzzle elements, and the odd bit of combat to keep the player on their toes.

However the Remake just has enemies popping up every two minutes, it just starts getting draining and irritating rather than scary imo.

2. Angela's characterization is really wrong, she's gone from a broken woman due to the traumatic experiences that she's been through, to an emo teen.

Now don't get me wrong, it's refreshing to see a modern Game that actually knows what an emo is, but it shouldn't be Angela from Silent Hill 2.:umm2:

3. Exploration in the Game was made to be bigger just to pad the Game, and make it longer than it really needs to be.

Chop off the fat and the Game would be much better paced.

The only two areas where the Remake you could arguably say beats the original are graphics (because technically they do look better) and voice acting, but even that's debatable when comparing the two Angela's performances.

Lost Judgment - I really liked the first Judgment Game, so I was expecting to like the second one too.

But RGG really have just gone downhill in recent years, from JRPG's to really dull Historical Games, to now downplaying the City exploration in a City exploration Game for a High School setting about Bullying, Suicide, and sending girls into the sex trade.:umm2:

Some of the dialogue was really dumbed down too with how they'd have to over-emphasize how bad those three things are.

I know that I'm not the brightest bulb out there (as are most people tbh,) but I don't believe that any of us are so stupid that we need a Yakuza themed Game (which I know seems to bother RGG that their series does originate from Yakuza themes,) to tell us that bullying and forcing girls into the sex trade is wrong.

And the Sub-Stories were easily the worst Sub-Stories in the franchise by a country mile.

Awful Game imo, my advice to RGG would be to pull away from the American mindset that seems to be festering into their most recent works.

I'm even hearing rumours that they're considering hiring Keanu Reeves and Dwayne Johnson for Yakuza 9/Like A Dragon 9.

The Quarry - God this Game was appalling on so many different levels that I don't even know where to begin.

1. The pacing was atrocious, I've seen Netflix Shows have faster pacing than this Game.

2. Emma has to be the scariest looking character in all of Video Games, that smile haunts my nightmares.

And it's all unintentional.:umm2:

And I've even just checked the picture of the VA irl, and she looks a lot less scary.

Such a bizarre character design imo from the developers.

3. The writing for every character except for Dylan and Ryan was atrocious imo, especially Emma and Jacob's writing.

Overall just not for me.

Perfect Dark - When you're making the first level a nuisance on what to even do, then I'm not going to be a huge fan of the Game.

Plus the combat was probably the other extreme where it was too easy.

And just to clarify, I have not beat every Game on this list due to either them being too difficult to beat for me, or I just didn't like them.

After all on the latter front, I want to spend time enjoying my time, not being miserable over forcing myself to beat a Video Game that I don't even like.

37. Saints Row Reboot (New Entry)
38. The Quarry
39. Perfect Dark
40. Manhunt (New Entry)
41. Shenmue (New Entry)
42. Observer (New Entry)

My reasons for the new entries placings.

Tomb Raider 2013 - It's the first time that I have ever played a Tomb Raider Game, and I have got to say that I really enjoyed the Game. I'll be honest and say that it exceeded my expectations of what I would think of the Game.

It made it's survival mechanics a lot friendlier than I was expecting too, thankfully for my personal taste.

I'm now a converted Lara Croft fan.

Crisis Beat - It's a simple Beat Em Up/Fighting Game that was on a reasonably small budget (I think) back in the PS1 days.

But Crisis Beat just gets the basics down, which is just to be fun in every department.

Sure there are technically better Games than Crisis Beat in certain areas, but I honestly would say that there's never a dull moment in Crisis Beat.

Raging Loop - This one will probably be more divisive in the sense that it's a Death Game Mystery Horror Visual Novel, with not really too much traditional gameplay happening.

And tbf Raging Loop does have it's flaws (although I will defend the ending,) but I do ultimately think that the interesting characters, cool Horror aesthetic, the tense atmosphere during the "Feasts" and the mystery itself were all more than worth putting up with some dodgy pacing in my view.

And just to add, my Brother technically played the Game, but as it's mostly text, I feel like there's not really that much of a different experience between what both of us were experiencing with the Game.

My three favourite characters personally were Kiyonosuke, Chiemi, and Haruaki.

Limbo - Limbo is a really well made Puzzle Platformer Game with a cool Horror aesthetic (or Gothic if you prefer.)

But Limbo is a brilliant Game, I do knock points off for a few of the puzzles near the end of the Game needing me to use a walkthrough, because the Game didn't really make it even remotely understandable what the puzzle required you to try and accomplish.

But it's a bit of a nitpick tbf, it's a great Game overall.

Hood Story: Kaito Yamazaki - An Indie Gangster Game that takes elements of the Yakuza franchise and the Streets Of Rage franchise.

Hood Story is a lot of fun to play through, and some of the characters made me laugh with some of the things that they'd say to each other.:joker:

It was for me at least an 8/10, and I don't hand that out very easily to modern Games.

AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative - I've already posted my opinion on this Game on the What are you currently playing thread in more detail, so I will just be more brief about it on this thread.

Ryuki's half of the Game was really strong, it weren't quite as good as the first Game imo, but it was very respectable effort.

Then we have Mizuki's route in the Game, we would be here all day if I tried to explain my issues with her character in the Game.

Filler content probably sums it up the best with where her route went wrong for my taste.

Prototype - It's a mixed bag with Prototype for me, but I would ultimately say that the repetitive level design just really started dragging the second half of the Game down for me personally.

I know that it's not the only Video Game to ever have that particular issue, but I just personally had issues with their repetitive elements.

Hard Edge - Hard Edge had potential for my taste, I kind of liked the sound of a old-school PS1 Resident Evil styled Game that wasn't actually a Survival Horror Game, it did sound like an interesting idea.

And tbf, there are parts of the Game that are fun in a goofy sort of way.

But the combat was even more clunky for me than the first Resident Evil, which is too broken for my taste.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - Lu Bu's mode is fun, but Cao Cao's just dragged for me, plus his final mission was really unfair to me in a way that just will be hard to explain on the Internet.

Injustice: Gods Among Us - It was just a bit dull imo. There's nothing really much else to add.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 - This was my very first COD experience, and I just couldn't connect with the Game.

And I do know that this Game had AI generated content on some of their online stuff, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the campaign mode also had AI generated content attached to it, especially because of how bland it was.

Saints Row Reboot - Unlike Forspoken where I think that the Game got harshly attacked, Saints Row Reboot instead does deserve every bit of criticism that it gets.

Especially when I have just recently played Saints Row 3 and SR3 understands what a joke actually is, and how to at least attempt a joke.

An absolute travesty imo.

Manhunt - GTA camera meets Stealth gameplay was severely irritating to try and play through, surprisingly much weaker than I was expecting the Game to be.

Shenmue - Irritating Gameplay, possibly some of the worst that I have ever experienced.

The story looked interesting though.

Observer - Quite possibly the dullest Game that I have ever played.

I will consider second chances for some of my lower ranked Games if the mood ever takes my fancy.

But for now I will be leaving these very unique experiences in the past.

Mystic Mock 23-05-2025 07:33 AM

52. Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD (New Entry)
53. Metaphor: ReFantazio (New Entry)
54. The Testament Of Sherlock Holmes (New Entry)
55. Observer

Rise Of The Tomb Raider - I always know that a Game is good when it has me angry at getting killed in those ****ing stealth missions, but I still want to come back for more lol.

I would say that Rise Of The Tomb Raider has the best story out of the Survivor trilogy, and it has probably the most unique environments in the Survivor trilogy with the snowy landscapes in my view.

I also do really enjoy the Music that the Game has to offer.

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger HD - Imo the first Ty Game is one of the best and smooth Collect-a-thon Platformers that I have personally ever played.

And with the engaging and likable characters, plus a lot of things in the Game that's very culturally Australian, what's not to love?

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider - Despite me ranking SOTTR the lowest out of the Survivor trilogy, I would still say that it's a really strong Game imo, especially as it goes along.

And I would say that the Puzzles are definitely at their strongest in this entry of the Survivor trilogy, I really enjoyed them anyway.

Overall I would say that the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy is quite underrated by today's standards.

The Darkness - Edgy, cool, and violent, what's not to love?

Personally this Game was really fun to play, and the Hell segments were really hellish.:joker:

Apparently it's a spin-off to the Witchblade series, for anyone that's up on those particular Comics.

But yeah I really enjoyed playing The Darkness.

Shadow Of Memories - What an interesting Game imo.

You play as Eike Kush, who is trying to stop his own murder every half hour (in Game time) and you have to find the right items, characters, and even time periods to get through certain obstacles that the Game will throw your way.

The Game has multiple endings, although I only have done the one ending so far.

But overall a really interesting Game, especially if you like really trippy stories.

Grand Theft Auto V - This is a replay experience for me.

I do think that it is the weakest quality GTA Game that I have played (until GTA VI comes out anyway,) but I do think that this Game's missions do get really good the further that you dig into the Game.

And Trevor is a legend.

Astebreed - Astebreed is a Shmup (I think that's how you spell it,) which is only about 5 or 6 stages long.

I personally think that the Game is fun, just don't expect a masterpiece in Gaming.

Although the final boss is iconic imo.

Rise Of The Ronin - The Game is alright imo.

I did wish that the dodging would be as useful as the parrying in the Game though.:joker:

And something was just missing in the Game, I can't quite put my finger on it.

The Warriors - I'll be honest I have never watched a single second of the Film, so I would have no idea how the Game holds up in comparison to the Movie.

The story looked alright (if not done better elsewhere imo,) but I personally didn't really love the level design in the Game, especially the Writer's Block segment of the Game was so annoying in an infuriating I want to quit the Game sort of way.

And I eventually did just that.:joker:

Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy - This Game was slowly getting better at quips as it was going along imo, but I just felt like playing the Game was a ball ache.

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD - This might be The Promised Neverland Season 2 of Video Games, in terms of how much I was looking forward to playing it just for most of it to go all wrong.

Hopefully the City/village environment has dramatically improved for the third Game.:fc:

Metaphor ReFantazio - It's definitely my least favourite Atlus Game that I have ever played.

I've never played an RPG that's so bland before, especially one that comes from Atlus.

Fair play to the people that like the Game, but to me that was three days that I'm never getting back before I had to quit the Game.:joker:

It took them 14-15 hours to even start referencing a second town, which is surprising considering that it's meant to be an Adventure type of RPG.

The Testament Of Sherlock Holmes - It's an old Game tbf to it, but it does unfortunately show in a lot of areas.

Not for me sadly as I don't like feeling like I'm being exhausted when I'm meant to be playing something fun.

That's it for now.

I have got to start adding some Internet Flash Games on this list eventually, as I remember that there used to be some cool Internet Games back in the day.
