Well it can only be an improvement

…I wonder if the house layout will be a similar one to this one and based on it or whether it’ll be a complete change…

Depends really - a studio set on a soundstage can be relocated without any noticeable changes.

I hope the set up and studio is completely different. I feel even though there was a change of location between Elstree and where it was recently, but i feel since BB3 it's been the same layout outside.

BB1/2 going to BB3 from Bow to Elstree was a big change, and i hope we get another big change.

Hopefully we're getting a more permanent and bigger set, but part of me thinks they might build exactly the same layout, as BBCAN did when they moved in 2018.

Interesting that this is happening after the Bovingdon stage they tried to build pre ITV series 1 is now granted - https://planning.dacorum.gov.uk/publ...E_-1524892.pdf

"This application seeks permission for the construction of permanent studio (for film-making)
This is a resubmission of previously withdrawn application reference 22/03653/MFA which was
withdrawn until details of outstanding concerns including those to satisfy the LLFA (surface water
drainage) and NATs (height of studio) were available to be submitted.

The site of the proposed studio (Stage A) is situated towards the northern end of the wider site, in
close proximity to three existing permanent studios (referred to as Stage B, C and D) which were
granted planning permission under planning reference 20/03194/MFA."

According to Big Blagger, it's still in West London, quite close to Garden Studios. I wouldn't be surprised if the stage/house layout was the same now

Yeah they need some changes big time! The lame little runway out front has to go and i need more interior changes than some paint splashes and an ikea plant

C4 relocated to Elstree for two reasons:

1) Bow required the purpose built set to be returned to it's natural habitat.
2) The show's popularity was skyrocketing and C4 was putting more money into better facilities.

From Big Brother 3 through C5's last series the exterior shell did undergo some changes as the house layout changed. Various aerial shots over the years showed additions of task rooms and "house next door" structures added on. Towards the end the shell was showing its age when rain storms would start leaking into the house.

Unfortunately BB isn't getting the ratings it once did, and ITV's version isn't exactly peak Big Brother. I was hopeful when Bovingdon was mentioned as they would have had the space and resources to build a purpose-built house, but I'm inclined to believe it will simply move to a new soundstage. If they do, I think it's extremely likely the house from the past two series' will simply be reconstructed.

I'd love for an entirely new house layout to be constructed just for something new, but going off of how ITV seems to run the show I think they're continuing to borrow aspects from the North American format while still keeping it "British" - including using the same floor plan each series. I think the days are gone where the network would dish out loads of cash for a new house design. For quick six week runs unfortunately I don't think it's in their best interest to overhaul the theme each year.

I have high hopes for the Network 10 Australian reboot though.

If its of any interest to anyone, I found the original Big Brother house planning application from 2000:

And for the Elstree move in 2002, which I found last year:

I’ve discovered the new house.

I've never particularly liked the post-C4 style houses. So this news is very palatable to me.

Interesting. Just looks like an industrial manufacturing warehouse. The details indicate multiple stories inside. Wonder where the exterior set would go?
