Yes. Definitely not the greatest film ever. Good film but not greatest.

City of God is an amazing film and one of the few that I actually do still own on DVD - hard to find it on streaming platforms at times.

I also have the TV series "City of Men" from around the same time on DVD, which is also excellent, and I imagine very hard to find anywhere these days online. Though TBF I haven't looked. Same setting, same basic ingredients, not explicitly linked to City of God though.
