Did you go to the Sales either in person or online?

wait for the poll

Cherie 27-12-2024 10:40 AM

I think Christmas day online sales must have been a flop because I didn't see any adverts for Online Sales starting on Christmas day? M and S were closed Boxing Day as well, I haven't been online or in person, January sales are dead

Cherie 27-12-2024 10:41 AM

If you have shopped did you get a bargain?

Not for myself but I recommended a good deal to Ness who is looking for a heated blanket. The Go Groopie Website.

bots 27-12-2024 03:58 PM

M&S never open on boxing day going right back to my childhood. They wanted their staff to have 2 full days off. I wish others behaved the same way.

I stopped buying things in the christmas sales ages ago. The moment black friday became a thing, the christmas sales became pointless

AnnieK 27-12-2024 04:05 PM

Only thing I have bought is wrapping paper and cards for next year.

rusticgal 27-12-2024 04:07 PM

I know you can get some good bargains…but can’t be arsed if I’m honest. Crowds/pushing/shoving…and sometimes it just looks like a jumble sale.

Not my scene…

I agree with you totally. You might rather look for bargains online Rusti, if you would like that. X

GoldHeart 27-12-2024 04:18 PM

Can't be bothered

Oh great job Rusti. What is it like?

Crimson Dynamo 27-12-2024 04:20 PM

they are not sales

its stock they cant sell because it is overpriced initially and they "discount" it to the price it should have been

hideous that people have nothing better to do than go to the "shops"

Sadly not … amazingly 99% of the outside market was closed plus loads of town centre outlets

I remember one guy saying he made 90% of his annual profits between the 10th and 30th December so I expected everything to be open and vibrant

arista 27-12-2024 06:55 PM

It was 8% Down.
this year.

Not surprised, people are worried about their job security

and the shops are too greedy now Black Friday is a ridiculous concept and people expect sales before Christmas now

There must have been a period when they did, thought I was going mad so googled

Marks & Spencer will launch its post-Christmas Sale online on Christmas Day and open the majority of its stores at 6am on December 27 for the start of its Sale in stores.
The online Sale will start at 12.01am on Christmas Day. The retailer is offering savings of up to 50 per cent across most ranges in womens-, mens-, childrenswear, lingerie, home and beauty.

The post-Christmas Sale follows one of the retailer’s busiest pre-Christmas periods of promotional activity for years. It launched its first pre-Christmas Sale since 2004 in November.

the above was in 2008, the Christmas Day sale went on for a few years not sure when it finished
