The new Big Brother house

Sources inform that the new Big Brother house will be located on Kendal Avenue, at the Titan Building, part of Versa Studios here.

Full details: https://www.loopnet.co.uk/Listing/41...ndon/28208490/

Planning permission has been applied for an external garden space with space for an audience. The planning permission states audience will be 300 seated or 450 standing people.

It appears the house and production facilities will be situated in the same building:
Spoiler:

3.0 Use
3.1 3.2 The proposed development will ultimately provide the client team with studio and preparation facilities for TV and Film production. The building accommodation is across three floors of varying size. Please refer to associated drawing pack.

The ground floor would be predominantly for Stage Sets with set building and workshops adjacent on the same level.

The upper floors would be suited to ancillary Production Offices given the cellular nature of the plan.

The second floor, being open plan, could be utilised for office space, workshop, storage, etc Although most of the filming will be within the building a small external area has been identified for outdoor set arrangement & both recorded productions and live filming. The size of the plot also provides the flexibility required for supplementary production facilities withindicative arrangements shown/noted for temporary catering, audience holding, washroom facilities,
etc.

What I believe will be the garden is in green. Audience space denoted outside it.

Isn't Celeb bb starting in the next month or so? The house won't be ready on time surely?

It was always January, wasn't it.

Sawyer 11-01-2025 08:36 PM

People just don't seem interested anymore, do they?!? haha! I remember when this forum would be buzzing over news like this

Ray. 11-01-2025 08:46 PM

I mean, I'm interested. But what else is there to say?

I hope they don't make it too comfortable for them. Make it as uncomfortable for the HMs as a modern-day McDonald's, e.g, uncomfortable plastic chairs, intensely bright lights, sterile decor, basic rations :hehe:

Sawyer 11-01-2025 08:52 PM

Yes same here! I'm hoping for a bit more an owellian feel - barbed wire, high fences, dogs etc

BigAsher 11-01-2025 08:53 PM

The last stage was okay, but I would've preferred an indoor stage to it. Hope they can make good use of the space if they have an outside crowd again.

How big is the soundstage? If they're having the house and production in the same soundstage, it must be big. Although I do hope they make the house smaller. Make it more homey.

Looks a much more problematic location backing onto a residential area. Garden Studios had the benefit of not just backing onto the canal but being in a largely industrial area where they didn't have to worry too much about the neighbours.

I pass this place a few times a year (and yesterday by pure coincidence), and genuinely I can’t see why they’ve picked it…

Like what Brekkie said, it’s directly next to a residential area, the other 3 sides are a public alleyway, a public road and a publically accessible small industrial estate.

…strange that they’re building it so close to a residential area, Mitchell…

Just think it’s a bit of a recipe for disaster, could be wrong obviously

…I mean, as much as the producers are trying to get a good blend of housemates, it feels like the budget overall is very controlled…that seems to be evident with some of the tasks that are like a speed version or just very basic and the shortened time of the housemate stay…

It’s only as close to a residential area as the Elstree house was.

I remember when kitten climbed on the roof and declared that the big brother house was in a council estate

And watching bb6 live at the night and the housemates being constantly told to shut up by production when they were screaming in the garden

…actually yeah, that’s fair…I always forget all of these things/details……

EDIT: …Kitten was such an iconic housemate/personality…

Looking at this place on a map I’m very curious how they’re going to incorporate a garden and live eviction set into the minuscule outdoor area. I don’t see this being any different than garden studios. I predict another gargantuan interior house.

Could you post a link to the Planning application? The one for Titan I found had 2 documents lol, wanted them to build a standalone, as a replica of the borehamwood house hehe

Thanks!

i miss

I miss the elstree house. Each year it looked different, the garden seemed huge, though it was probably not. Much more versatile, this big brother seem to have the same layout, which just means you cant hide secret rooms etc as much.

There doesn’t seem to be much freedom in how they design the outside space because it’s so restricted. If they even have this approved, I hope they change the interior layout a lot. I know it’s not really much nor does it add anything to a series other than to differentiate it, but it would be nice.

Oh 100%… i’m bored of the house already… used to be they’d have a layout for a BB series and keep it for CBB and then completely change it. But i’m assuming with a whole new building we’ll get a new layout
