What age did you start getting served in pubs

Late 14 or early 15 for me.

Old bessy, one of the local landpersons used to rub your chin, and if you were stubbly enough you got served.

Got caught by PC Purcell at 16 drinking a pint once. The l8cal bobby and my school mates dad.

He took the pint away for evidence. Probably drank it. I just walked back in the pub and asked for another. They obliged!

14. West Ham Supporters Club and the Boleyn, for those who know the area. I'm quite tall, that helped.

Was the Queens reserved back then?

I looked really young as a teen, I hated it. I went to pubs around 16 but one of our group always looked older and she bought the drinks

17 and 3/4. I didn’t really push it. Blue WKD from all the milk-bars in my ends did me ’til I was more-or-less 18.

I did the same...well sort off.

Celebrated my 17th and got that loud about it, the owner found out.. you cheeky wee bugger! You've been drinking in here for months

Was popular enough at that age for him to build a little shelf below the table for me to prop my pint on. The legend that is Bud Flannigan, or Ian as he likes to be called at the races.

A friend I disappointed in 87, but came together again in 23 where he helped me out again with a squeegie and a shammy.

Seems ages ago now

My best friend is a year older than me but looked really young. She wasn't a big fan of clubbing but once came out with us and was asked for ID which she didn't have on her. I knew the bouncers as we were regulars and said "it's OK, she's with me" and they let her in. I was 16 but always looked older and I gloated like mad. She said at the time. "Just wait till we're 40 and I still look 30, you'll be gutted then". I was :bawling: She still looks years younger than her age
