Is it always this ****ing cold?

Just got back to the UK today, and it's still freezing!

This isn't be normal, right?

It feels like it hasmt been above 5°C since November.

Last winter, I was working in Japan and Pakistan, and the year before that, I was in Mexico. So maybe I've just forgotten

Curious if others are feeling the same? obviously the media wouldnt tell us if it was a particularly cold winter as that doesnt fit in with their global warming storyline.

Kate! 11-02-2025 01:52 PM

The average UK temperature in February is around 6.3°C (43.3°F)

Currently most of Scotland is around 6C

Most of Northern England is 5 C (Manchester , Liverpool) as is SW England and the S coast

so pretty average for time of year.

Midlands and Greater LOndon is 4 C

Luton, Stanstead and SE England is 3 C

So below average

The blanket cloud and cold wind will make it feel worse I will add

GoldHeart 11-02-2025 02:46 PM

No matter how cold it gets ...and believe me it's very cold ,and we're feeling it . I'm just glad I don't live in Russia - Yakutsk :skull:  . They'll probably laugh at us complaining about freezing weather.

I don't mind the cold too much but the constant dull grey days are annoying me. We've barely had any sunshine for ages and there's none forecast here for the next few days either

Because you are closer to the eastern continent

LaLaLand 11-02-2025 08:22 PM

I'm usually fine with cold winters, but this time has been savage.

Got out of my lovely warm car earlier to walk across a huge, open car park and got so suddenly freezing cold that it almost knocked me sick. Like I felt unwell and out of sorts for hours after! :(

It's not savage

It's not been a cold winter at all and temps have been normal

Cherie 11-02-2025 08:24 PM

The wind yesterday was just biting, I had 2 jumpers, the heating and the wood burner on and I was still cold
