Peter Kay heckler speaks out about 'humiliation' at being thrown out of show
The comedian compared Myar Curran to Emmerdale star Lisa Riley as he had her removed from a stand-up tour date in Manchester...


A woman who was thrown out of a Peter Kay show by the comedian for heckling has spoken about feeling "humiliated" as she defended her actions.

Myar Curran was the second person to be asked to leave the gig by Kay at Manchester's AO Arena on 8 February, but she told Good Morning Britain on Friday that she had simply been trying to support the star after the first heckler disrupted his show.

Kay had a man ejected from the arena over repeatedly shouting out his catchphrase "garlic bread", but then also asked security to remove Curran when she began chanting "we love you Peter, we do", also comparing her to Emmerdale star Lisa Riley as she left.

In her first TV interview after the controversy, Curran told Good Morning Britain of the incident: "It was gutting really. I did feel humiliated."

As well as being embarrassed about being thrown out of the stand-up show, Curran was also unhappy that Kay had shouted out "alright, Lisa Riley" at her as she left, which she had previously said she believes was a jibe about her weight.

Curran continued to the ITV breakfast news show: "I didn't mean to cause any harm, I was just showing my love because he kicked someone out so I was like oh, I'll stand up and say we love you Peter...but he obviously didn't like it."

She added: "I feel like what I said was not abusive, it wasn't aggressive, it wasn't antisocial, I wasn't drunk. I was just standing up chanting, 'We love you Peter, we do'. And I feel like it's been taken a bit overboard and over the top, his reaction."

A couple of knuckleheads who don't know how to behave get thrown out. Good. Why hecklers try to heckle seasoned comedians is beyond me.

Frankie Boyle knows how to deal with hecklers, no need to throw anyone out :laugh:

I don't know what comedy shows people are used to, but in Glasgow, they threw things at comedians on a regular basis

Jimmy Carr furiously had an audience member thrown out of one of his comedy shows after losing his patience with their constant heckling.
