Possessing photos of Muslim women without hijab should be made a criminal offence

Say Labour

The Commons' women and equalities committee said pictures of a Muslim
woman without her headscarf – taken without her consent – should be
considered 'non-consensual intimate images'.

Such photographs should be treated the same as child sex abuse images,
possession of which can carry long prison sentences, the MPs said.

It comes after a planned definition of "Islamophobia" being championed by
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner was slammed for risking 'a blasphemy
law by the back door'.

The committee's Labour chairman Sarah Owen said: 'Non-consensual
intimate image abuse is a deeply personal crime which can have life-
changing and life-threatening consequences'

That is Common Sense
or it is hiding their full face.

Hijab doesn't hide the face.

taking a photo of anyone without consent isn't very cool, but how would you know it was a muslim woman that usually wore a hijab if she wasn't wearing one

Love to see them try and prove wrong doing in court

There is no expectation of privacy when out in public and your pictures are captured all the time by CCTV and dashcam

there is taking an indistinct photo in a crowd, and there is making someone the star of the phot. They are not the same thing, but i do agree, in the uk, there is no expectation of privacy in public, hence why we had harry in a nazi uniform etc

Yes. We are one of the most recorded people on the world. One nation, under surveillance. But hey, special treatment for Muslims.

Yesterday:

Keir Starmer at the Ramadan Iftar event inside the British Parliament:

“I know this has been a very difficult time for Muslims in the UK with the pain of
the conflict in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinians.”
