Jason Mohammad introduces Eid al-Fitr prayers from Bradford Central Mosque. A first for a UK terrestrial broadcaster. Just 6% of the UK is Muslim.

There are so many Arab TV stations I'm surprised the BBC thought this was a wise use of license payers' money. Or am I surprised...?

Had a little skim through, just to see what would be shown and apart from two women being interviewed at the beginning the whole thing was based on the males praying, would have been nice to see the women whereever they were? I dont think this is a good use of taxpayer money going up again in April by 5.00 a year....and if we are going down this route then lets see the Jewish, Hindu, Buddist, Baptist, ...the list goes on communities praying

Think the audience were misled there, as women do not pray in the same room as men, they may have access to the all the facilities but not at the same time...also just a casual observation on Friday prayers, I have only ever seen men with their sons going to prayer, never families or women with their daughter's, happy for someone from the community to dispute this, but this is what I have seen, and I would ask why is this

Why does the BBC air religious prayers full stop?
It's suppose to be an entertainment channel. |
