Some Vegan's have lack of Iron
No wonder they look so bloody ill.
Dr. Rupy Aujla Confirmed this is now common. He has a New Book Out Healthy High Protein. He was a brief Guest on Ch5HD AM Live today |
They need to eat Marmite and Peanuts

I'm vegan and I don't look ill. I did have iron deficiency once but I don't think it was anything to do with being vegan.

It is as the lack of Proper food. |
Iron-Rich Foods:
Legumes: Lentils, beans, and chickpeas are excellent sources of iron. Dark Leafy Greens: Spinach, kale, and collard greens are good sources of iron. Fortified Foods: Many breakfast cereals and breads are fortified with iron. Nuts and Seeds: Pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, and almonds are also good sources of iron. Dried Fruits: Apricots, prunes, and figs can contribute to iron intake Pair that lot with vitamin C rich foods for better absorption Vegans who have a poor Vegan diet will suffer, its about eating well and non vegans are just as bad and suffer from all sorts of issues if they eat poorly |

Redway’s about to get cooking. Who wants peppered rabbit and quail on breadfruit?

I distinctly remember my nurse assistant some time back during my physical asking if I were on a special diet (vegetarian/vegan) and when I said "No", she said "Good". In other words, they shouldn't expect too many problems when they run my bloodwork... I think I had asked about it, but I don't remember exactly what she said, but I think that was gist of it.
It might be because some people go really overboard and go strict with their diet and stick to certain staple comfort foods that don't fill the gap, especially if they struggle with cravings. I've sometimes struggled with Iron because 1) female and 2) Not being a heavy eater to begin with. I do eat meat though. If that person is a heavy caffeine person or drink/eats lots of beverages and other processed crap that cause their body to dump nutrients, they can have an issue also. So there's lots of reasons to run into deficiencies. It's hard to blame it on one single thing. |
