Mickey gets first CBB warning for homophobic Remarks

Mickey Rourke gets pulled into the Diary Room during tonight's episode of Celebrity Big Brother following a series of homophobic remarks towards TikTik sensation JoJo Siwa

Mickey Rourke has been issued a formal warning by Big Brother just days after moving into the house.

The Hollywood actor was pulled into the Diary Room by bosses following a series of homophobic remarks towards 21-year-old housemate JoJo Siwa.

During Wednesday's (April 9) episode, the Hollywood actor asks US sensation JoJo: "Where’s the smoke room? Where’s the cigarette room?

He later asks: "Do you like girls or boys?" JoJo replies "Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary." Mickey says to JoJo: "If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore."

JoJo says: "I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship." In the garden, Mickey asks Chris Hughes if everyone has to vote one another out of the house.

Mickey says "I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick." JoJo overhears and says: "That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning." Former Love Island star Chris interjects: "You can’t do that Mickey."

Mickey then says: "I need a fag" and then gestures to JoJo and says: "I’m not talking to you." Chris responds: "Mickey, you can’t say that" but the actor says: "I know. I was talking about a cigarette."

JoJo is left upset by the exchange and is comforted by Chris. Shortly after the exchange in the garden, Big Brother calls Mickey to the Diary Room.
Big Brother says: "Mickey before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you. Mickey, do you understand how this language could be offensive to your Housemates or the viewing public?"

Mickey says: "Yeah I think so. If I was saying it in a nasty kind of way or if I truly meant it."

Big Brother says "Mickey, Big Brother thinks your language was offensive and unacceptable." Mickey agrees: "Alright. I can understand that."

Big Brother says: "As a result, Big Brother is giving you a formal warning. Further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?” Mickey says: "Yes I do. It’s some serious stuff. I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions.

Angling for a quick exit without losing his fee.

….’if I stay more than 4 days, you won’t be gay anymore…’…was enough…but then there was more…

Wouldn't he lose his fee if he got kicked out for a rule break?

I guess it would depend on what's in the contract he signed.

It's like he has plans of something he wants to do to her, very scary and predatory, she's only 21!!!

Ammi 09-04-2025 03:07 PM

…I personally don’t think that he’s angling for anything…this is him, unfiltered and uncut and just not realising acceptable/unacceptable/respecting boundaries etc…

OK, fair enough :joker::joker:

He was clearly joking, but part of a joke is reading the room and making sure everyone is in on it and that you are laughing with them and not at them.

The warning was deserved. TBH, he got off really lightly considering what others have been evicted for in the past.

Well it shows you that bigger stars get more special treatment for sure (not that we ever doubted that but you know)

You cannot joke with the thin skinned. The warning was a gift for BB after trying to spin the "it's not all about you" remark and failing.

Ya, I was thinking in civilian BB the contestant would be straight out the back door!

…I agree with all of that, I’m not sure if he was joking or not, though…but at worst, I think that he’s very confused and unclear of ‘acceptable’…he has though accepted that and not questioned it and if he stays…?…I think he has a bit of a journey…

Yeah true, plus he probably has cost them a LOT of money already.

They know this will blow up in the papers/ socials and they know people will tune in to hate watch him and wait for his next slip up. It's such a gift, they aren't gonna throw it away too soon.

Kate! 09-04-2025 03:13 PM

My first instincts were correct. He's an asshole.

Yeah, I bet he does get thrown out eventually though, when they've got their moneys worth

…no, he’s not going anywhere until he’s voted out …but even then, there may be ‘BB intervention’ from time to time to protect him from the public vote…

Cherie 09-04-2025 03:17 PM

Wonder if he will still use his Guardian Angel power on Jo Jo

I thought he picked Danny?

bots 09-04-2025 03:21 PM

it's predictable, but he is from my generation with the addition of no filter, the producers would have known what they were getting before he went in

That my feeling, he has no filter.
But it's good he apologized.

Niamh. 09-04-2025 03:23 PM

Oh also as a side point he also broke the "no discussing noms" rule

I think a few of them did. Wonder if they'll be pulled up on it.
