Is this a scam?
Okaaaay. I'm quite anxious about this. Scared of it being a scam.
I'll explain. A lady is selling 2 Peter Kay tickets on Facebook. They are 60 quid each. So I've chatted with her and arranged to pay her for them via bank transfer installments. But I'm unsure if it is genuine. I asked for the bank account details and alarm bells are ringing because of the name on the account? I can't say what it is here but it's a character name from a film. What should I do?? |
Bank transfer could well be dodgy, would be very hard to get money back if so..can you not use PayPal?
|
Also that she will accept installments sounds iffy

Almost certainly a scam it the account name doesn't match their FB name. FB is absolutely awash with ticket scammers
|
Give me her details, and I'll buy them instead.
That's my best advice. |

Anytime I worry about being scammed … its usually been a scam … I type all the relevant info at hand into Google and see what it throws up .. occasionally some other people have had similar doubts and asked on X or Reddit and Google will link their conversations . Alternatively ask one or two of the Ai engines |

if you have the smallest doubt, don't do it. If you want tickets, get them from authorised sources

It's the name on the account ringing the biggest alarm bells.

Doesn’t sound like a scam to me
