Dawn French made to apologise for mocking Gaza situation.

Dawn French has apologised and taken down a video she posted about the war in Gaza after facing backlash.

The popular actress and comedian said she apologised "unreservedly" after posting a video in a "mocking tone".

In the original 40-second clip, the Vicar of Dibley star said: "Complicated, no, but nuanced. But bottom line is no."

Then, using a different tone, she went on: "Yeah, but you know they did a bad thing to us, yeah but no.

"But we want that land... and we have history... No.

"Those people aren't really even people, are they really? No."

On Saturday afternoon, she issued an apology, saying that in an effort to convey "an important message" she had "clumsily used a mocking tone".

Was she made to apologise? Or was she just worried about losing the lucrative M&S (a company that has Jewish roots) adverts she's paid to gob-shite all over? She knew what she was doing when she mocked and diminished the 1269 victims of the Hamas attack on 7th October. "Yeah, but no but..." isn't even her thing. She's an idiot. The only thing she ever did that was amusing was the Vicar of Dibley where she spoke a more talented person's words.

Here is the disgusting video she posted

until perhaps M & S made her take it down and issue a groveling apology :skull:

sickening

So do we enjoy people being silenced for opinions now or?

If people were silenced because their opinions were stupid, you'd be quiet now.

I'm glad she said all this. Now we know. She can make all the apologies she likes but you can't unring a bell.

Oh Livia, charming as always

Mystic Mock 09-06-2025 09:18 AM

I honestly don't know what she was hoping to achieve tbh.

She wanted to share her opinion, which is shared by the majority of most nations at this point, of the absurdity of the arguments from people defending the mass murder of innocent people and children, but that isn’t allowed anymore because it might upset poor Israel :(

I try to match my charm to yours...

Crimson Dynamo 09-06-2025 09:23 AM

she has been totally destroyed reputationally, if indeed she was still relevant - just look at all her celeb pals who came out in her defence.....:skull:

You can criticise the actions of Israel, without minimising or dismissing 7 October.

Because it offends the families of the 1200+ people raped, actually kidnapped, murdered, burned alive, blown up, had their heads hacked on with garden tools in an unprovoked attack on a peace festival and a kibbutz full of families on 7th October by baying, cheering Palestinian terrorists. They were dancing and singing in the streets afterwards. Maybe you missed it.

Plenty of "celebrities|" have spoken out. Only a few knuckle-heads have got it THIS wrong.

I just think that she probably should've just gone all in tbh, rather than I think trying to deliver it like it's a comedic punchline.

I personally am with her though on not liking to see Israel killing innocent civilians.

Tbh they've both done so much **** to each other at this point, that I can't see how this ends peacefully for both sides, as neither side will compromise.

I have a feeling her time as the Christmas Fairy for Marks and Sparks is well and truly over

In some people's eyes, no you cannot.

(Not that that entirely matters; I agree that you absolutely can)

I think you can. So long as the criticism is even handed. But so much of the criticism of Israel comes from people with an agenda, or limited knowledge, or who speak with an anti-Semitic message. If you can avoid these, have at it, I say.

The Slim Reaper 09-06-2025 12:31 PM

The mistake Dawn Made, was in apologising and conceding a single inch to these Zionist fcuks. No ground conceded will ever be enough for their murderous, blood stained hands.

Livia 09-06-2025 12:57 PM

Here come the Hamas cheer squad.

You don't need to be an international lawyer (which is fortunate ) to know that we're both saying the same things. You said her apology isn't enough. I said no apology would ever be enough.

Don't keep bringing up my profession. It makes you look small and spiteful.

I'm not bringing up your profession, and no one else thinks I'm bringing up your profession, either.

You're telling me I look spiteful when the post I quoted of yours, is literally you calling Liam, stupid.

Go off, sister.

The world we're currently in (tribalised, fast-media driven) is too inclined towards guilty-by-association for this to be true in my experience. Expressing any stance whatsoever on the vast majority of topics (openly/publicly) will result in being assigned to a "side" and broad criticism applied accordingly. That's just the unfortunate reality of public discourse currently.

You can do it in certain closed circles.

Leaving this discussion till the Jew baiting is sorted.
