Partying Bus driver kills 9 year old and gets 4 years

Bexleyheath bus driver Martin Asolo-Agogua sentenced

Up all night partying and smoking cannabis. Didn't sleep a wink. Got into his
bus at 8.00am, fell asleep at the wheel and killed a nine-year-old girl. Jailed for
four years. Will be out in two.

A bus driver has been jailed for four years for killing a nine-year-old girl when
he fell asleep at the wheel in Bexleyheath.

Martin Asolo-Agogua had not been to sleep after a night of partying when he
turned up to his 8am shift on August 3 last year.

He was seen yawning and nodding off before his bus swerved onto the
pavement on Watling Street, killing Ada Bicacki and narrowly missing her
five-year-old brother.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and
driving whilst unfit through drugs (cannabis).

On Monday, June 9, he was sentenced to four years in prison.

In his short spell as a bus driver numerous complaints were made about his
driving – including occasions when he damaged the bus by hitting stationary
vehicles or bus stops.

He was briefly suspended following an incident in May when he stopped too
abruptly, causing a child passenger to fall on the floor.

However, he was given “the benefit of the doubt” and his suspension was
lifted a short time later.

and all eyes will be on it

Don't worry, Keir will work a behind the scenes deal to postpone it again. It's what the Palestinian supporters and the marxists have been secretly working on.

Hes not a honky, so we know he's in line for a sweetheart deal. Might even end up with a nice compensation package out of it all :smug:

Wherever they are and whatever they're doing, they will be protected and enjoy free legal representation.

So this guy had previous incidents of dangerous driving but was given the "benefit of the doubt."

I'm sorry but whoever gave him the benefit of the doubt needs to be sacked imo, and in my view they are partially responsible for this child's death.

People deserve the benefit of the doubt, and the person giving him that cannot be held responsible for this dude drinking and getting high all night, before getting behind the wheel of a bus.

I daresay most bus drivers could be flagged as driving dangerously at some points, because there are obvious and necessary, strict safety standards. Need to know more about what training he was given to try and correct any of his driving errors, but there is only one person responsible for this heinous tragedy/crime.

I would agree with you if he had only had one incident prior.

But the article is saying that he had numerous complaints, meaning that he had chalked up at the very least two other incidents prior to this girl's murder.

So my point still stands, the person who approved of him still being on the road should feel incredibly guilty as they could've stopped this incident from happening in the first place, if they'd just done their job.

Obviously the killer is the main guilty party, but I honestly don't believe that he is the only guilty party.

4 years when he killed someone because of his stupid actions. Surely it should be 20 years minimum

Zizu 19-06-2025 10:34 PM

4 years presumably means TWO years less any time already in custody

…the senior crown prosecutor’s words…’I hope his sentence today can help to bring some closure for Ada's family and highlight the devastating consequences of drug driving.'…

…how can a four year sentence, which may only be served around half of, ever even begin to bring closure for taking their child and the whole of her life ahead of her…?…it’s just so difficult to fathom the UK laws/sentencing so many times…I don’t know what the actual charges were and was that the maximum sentence that could have been given…?…Ada’s parents/family are still receiving support, all kinds of wrong that their services support will possibly last longer than the sentence time…
