Gooner and simp do irritate me, tbf. I think everyone’s got the potential to get irritated by at least some words, in and beyond your poll.

Rizz is probably the one for me, but that's only because it's most current and being overused, like all the others were during their time in the sun.

Steeze is another random word that just sounds off to me.

It means, like, swag.

…that’s the thing…’time in the sun’….or buzzwords I think is the modern phrasing…I don’t find any of the words annoying, it is though interesting as to how they’re picked up and used casually/regularly as opposed to in context of explanation etc…I mean, you say words/phrases etc which may be typical to you…as I do the same and as most people we know do…and they’re ‘us-isms’ so in no way would ever annoy as words, it would be people that would annoy, not the words…:laugh:…I just find that buzzwords or words that are having their day in the sun don’t always fit the sayer…they’re just a trend accessory of the day and carried along by social media’s etc…

i think the use of buzz words is lazy. It means people aren't prepared to spend the time articulating what they want to express. It just becomes robotic and silly

…lazy maybe …but I also think that buzz words and phrases etc of the moment have a damaging impact also because they often don’t remain individual words and quickly become labels …they’re not words/phrases that are typical of the user, they’re words/phrases typical of a time/trend…

it becomes coloqual language too, like you only understand what a phrase means if you are part of the tribe that is in the know. Some of these phrases can be quite sinister too. I would just much rather people say exactly what they are thinking :laugh:

Of course, the problem in all of this is that i know i do it too, but i do think younger generations use them more frequently while i'm still using buzz words from 30 years ago :dance:

…yeah of course, that’s why I said context, though…for instance, to say a word or phrase that is typical to something like a particular reality show…?..is in context…to ‘weaponise’ it in a way of creating or supporting divides is entirely different…

I think for me it's mainly the yoof slang type terms like Rizz, Peng Teng and Peak. I'm too old :laugh: However, Mansplaining I find annoying and Woke because of it's over and improper use, such as when Disney includes a character who happens to be a lesbian in a film or when there is an interracial couple in an advert.
