Some help from Crimson D please? Tides.

@Crimson Dynamo.

Can you help me cos I don't understand the website for Southport tides. Next week, Wednesday. When will we be able to get on the beach?

The tide times for Southport on July 9th, 2025 are: Low tide at 04:54 BST (2.3 meters) and 17:14 BST (2.1 meters), and high tide at 10:59 BST (7.8 meters) and 23:15 BST (8.2 meters). These times are based on the BBC Weather tide tables for Formby, North West England, which is close to Southport.

so as the tide goes far out at this bit of coast you should be fine for a beach walk in the afternoon

Thanks. We were hoping afternoon to early evening. That sounds possible I think.

I've never seen the tide in at Southport Kate :laugh: The beach goes out for miles.

Southport, but it's known for having a large tidal range, meaning the tide can be far out, especially at low tide. The wide, flat beach contributes to this effect, often making the sea appear distant. However, there are times when the tide comes in very close to the sea walls, especially during spring tides and exceptionally high tides like those caused by supermoons
